Oh wow! These floating ‘apartments’ are beyond cool! I would love to live in one of these on the water in Sausalito or San Diego, even though I’m not a huge fan of modern decor. My instincts tell me these, if they were for sale, have a hefty price tag which is out of line with the philosophy of tiny house living: living simply and economically. Still and all, they’re very different. I wouldn’t mind taking a vacation in one!

Ditto what you said. But wouldn’t it be cool to spend a weekend or short vacation on one? Especially if the water’s warm and you could swim straight from the deck.

I am thinking a month on Lake Powell in Southern UT, Northern Arizona border would be nice. If I had the funds, I would to spend sometime floating all around Lake Powell, and writing a journal, taking pictures and videos and than compile it into a travel book, with a DVD for the videos to accompany it.

Another neat place to rent one of these would be Lake Tahoe, traveling it and creating a book on my experience. These house boats look like a very nice way to relax, and a beautiful lake. I clicked on the link and saw some more pictures. If you look at the bottom picture, the one that was taken from above, you can see a place on top of it with a seat and a steering wheel. I believe that is where you would drive it from. They may be still in the process of working on the details, from design to reality, anyway, it is a neat idea, and houseboat, I love it. I think a latter on the back deck would be helpful if you want to go swimming and then climb back onto the boat.

Alex this is a real winner. It has so many applications and from the look could be mass produced easily. There is a good float system from New Zealand that would work really well. I am assuming there are Black water and gray water as well as fresh water tankage with pumps. Enough upper surface for solar as well as a tilt up mast for a wind turbine. This could even be a nice DIY project or even a side business for tiny home builders. KUDOS for the find.

Love these! Just wish there were more photos. Where are these located & where do you steer it?

These are a great idea, but again, the price would probably be prohibited for the tiny lifestyle.

Caution: curmudgeon mode on and set to Full.
For a small dwelling this idea has great appeal. My complaint about it is that it has been “designed” without being designed. You can create anything you want with computer graphics and make it look good. But that does not mean that the decisions have been made about materials, structure, piping, electrical, and in this case hull shape, propulsion, and even how to tie it up to the dock have been made.
A trip to their website shows lots of pretty “designs” but very little evidence that many of them have been turned into something real.
    OK, curmudgeon mode Off.

Interesting, but looks like a bit of a “wind catcher” with that high scoop front.

Turn it around and it’s quite aerodynamic (for a boat).

Iv’e worked in the marine industry for 40 years and never seen any thing like this. This is a great idea. Not so much for harbor use, but on a lake this would fantastic .
