64 Sq. Ft. Denizen Sauna Mobile Micro Cabin in the Woods

Just for fun I thought you might like this 64 sq. ft. micro cabin that is actually used as a sauna.

Yes, a sauna, but in Finland and other places in Europe having a sauna outside is a social thing.

The architects designed it for a client who wanted it during the winter months because it’s great after a sweaty run or after jumping in icy cold lake water. Plus it’s small enough that it can be moved on a sledge.

I’m thinking this would make a great private space for reading/writing/meditation? But if designed right, this micro cabin could even make the perfect tiny living space. Let’s take a look.

This post has reignited my desire to build a wood fired sauna by the edge of my pond. But first I must finish my tiny house which is two months behind schedule! Who knew a 240 square foot structure could take so long? Include a rainy northeast summer and injured workers in the picture and you have the major reasons.
Ever since visiting friends in Canada who had a wood fired sauna lakefront and being exhilarated by a roasting in the sauna followed by a running dive into the clear cold waters, I have been quietly obsessed by the memory of that sensual experience. My next project, I think! I will save these photos to guide me!

Really miss having a sauna, so I would gladly use it for that. Check out http://sauna.saunasessions.ca/category/mobile_saunas
