Minimalist Family Living in a Perfectly Customized Tiny House on Wheels

Bianca, Justin, and their toddler Bodhi live in this 30-foot long tiny house on wheels and they’ve designed the interior to fit their small family’s lifestyle perfectly!

The tiny house was a DIY build that was for sale on Kijiji and they bought it for $60,000 CAD. They added the kitchen, the furniture, and they modified the bathroom themselves to make the home more comfortable and functional.

Their current parking arrangement is an example of the land stewardship model – they are the secondary dwelling on a piece of land and they take care of the property, the gardens, the chickens, and the bees on the property in exchange for being able to park there.

The kitchen is intentionally very minimalist (there’s no oven or permanent cook space) so that it can be used in many different ways.  They have a portable countertop induction burner and a barbecue, and there is also an oven in the main building on the property that they can use on special occasions.

The living room has a sectional sofa and a drop leaf table so the space can easily be configured as a living room, a dining space, or a guest bedroom.

The bathroom and the ladder to the loft are both in the center of the tiny house, and the main floor bedroom is currently Bodhi’s.  But when he’s older, they could easily swap sleeping spaces and give him the loft.
