Marshfield Fairgrounds to host Big Mass Tiny House Festival

Over the last weekend in September, the Marshfield Fairgrounds will play host to a big event of small proportions: the Big Mass Tiny House Festival.

Bringing together two dozen tiny houses, vintage campers, school bus conversions, gypsy wagons and other types of miniature dwellings, the event is a collaboration between Arlington-based non-profit Miranda’s Hearth and the United Tiny House Association, a nationally-known group which hosts for-charity tiny house festivals around the country.

Since beginning in March 2016, the United Tiny House Association has donated more than $500,000 raised over eight festivals to more than 60 different non-profits, ranging from building housing for homeless veterans and transitional housing for battered women to children’s hospitals, volunteer fire departments and no-kill animal shelters.

United Tiny House Association was founded by John Kernohan and his wife Fin, who have lived for nearly seven years in their 304-square-foot home, known as “Beloved Cabin.” The owners of a number of tiny structures, they did not expect the festival to grow so large.

Not everyone knows Marshfield Fairgrounds is in Massachusetts. The article didn’t include that information. Thank goodness for google.

Not everyone knows where the “Marshall Fairgrounds” are located. I think providing datea and an address are pretty much the minimum requirement when talking about an upcoming event.

Learn to click links, often at, or near, the bottom of the story… amazing what you can find there… a little hint… they are blue in colour.

And yes, it does provide an address. Shock & Horror, who would have thought…???

Well, there are polite ways to impart information — but some folks don’t seem to have gotten the memo.
And yes, most folks do know about links. Clicking THIS link didn’t do all that much good, actually. Did you actually follow the link before you made your snide remark? I did — and I had to click through two more before I discovered the location of this fair — along with 3 more that are scheduled — one in my own neighborhood, aamof.
Still, it’s no more difficult to give info politely than it is to be rude while doing so. Just a thought.

Well actually I thought it was lightly humourous. And I clicked on the link to double check and…
          1) the address was at the bottom of the page, ala “”visit unitedtinyhouse.com. The Marshfield Fairgrounds is located at 140 Main St.”” and…

          2) clicking the link on that page (unitedtinyhouse.com) gives the address in more specific detail.

Maybe I’ll tone it down a little. Perhaps I should ask Mr Trump for some advice (humour)

          Peace

Two Crows, Thanks for your support. His response is sad really, I can’t imagine going through life treating folks like that.

Hi, I clicked on the link and the bottom showed the address was 140 Main. It did not give a state but I was able to deduce that it is somewhere on the east coast – possibly Rhode Island – in paragraph 16. Still not sure, but not going to dig further as I am in Washington State.

Thanks for your response Denise! I’m pretty internet savvy, and could likely find the address, but I sure do appreciate the effort. I merely wanted the author to consider putting that info. in their write-up(s) so folks could make a quick determination if they wanted to look into it deeper. I really think providing addresses and/or contact info in the main article is a min requirement when talking about events and products/manufacturers. Of course, links work, it’s just one more step placed on the reader/customer. thanks Again!

Wow, Dick Much? I’d say you were a something hole, but it’s more like you’re a whole something. Folks like you really ruin a community.

I agree with Fave and therefore I looked it up and it’s in Marshfield, Massachusetts as I suspected and it’s the last weekend of this month. Sept 28-30. Hope that helps.

Yes, it is helpful, not due to the viewer’s laziness, but rather because so many of us are short on time. More and more, one really does have to put all info(s) on the first page in order to capture attention. I used to spend a good 10-12 hours a day surfing/checking e-mail, clicking links, etc. No longer. I realized I had a problem and put a stop to it – I get 4 hours average on the internet and even that is too long. I am busy working on finishing my tiny house so Alex will have more pictures to post. 🙂 That said, Alex is usually pretty good about naming locations if it is pertinent and I think this was just an oversight.
