Married Couple’s Tiny House on Wheels: Life Inside a Box

This is Derek and Hannah. They’re a married couple with a tiny house on wheels in Tucson, Arizona! I think they have one of the nicest showers I’ve ever seen in a THOW!

My wife Hannah and I are beginning the build of our tiny house on a trailer. We currently live in Tucson, Arizona and plan to do the entire build here. We are both digital nomads. We work at home and make our entire income from promoting a plant-based vegan diet on YouTube and from our best selling recipe books. You can find all of that information on our website, Raw Till Whenever.

Tiny House Tour (Video)

You can get an awesome “drone view” of their property here. What an awesome place, isn’t it? You’ll notice they built a shed on the property which saves lots of precious space in their THOW.

Better tour coming soon because as you can probably tell they’re still not finished! So stay tuned via their YouTube Channel, their website, and of course our Free Daily Tiny House Newsletter.

I have watched Derek and Hannah as they’ve built their tiny house from start to still working on the land – fence, water collection, and more. Derek has the most incredible videos with exceptional explanations of every step. Hannah is the greatest cook and her recipes are to die for. They are the nicest and cutest couple. Please watch the videos above. “Life Inside a Box” and “High Carb Hannah” are my favorite Vegan channels. BRAVO………

Thanks for sharing that, Janet! I agree, Derek’s videos are really awesome and I love watching them progress on their land. And I can’t wait to try some of Hannah’s recipes!

A very modern small house, well designed. Just why does it say: We are both digital nomads. Everything he says of how the house depends on outdoor facilities that still need to be built makes clear they are everything but nomads. A LOT of outdoor facilities by the way!
Nomad is greek and means you live in different places. Neither fixed nor travelling, instead you live everywhere temporarily. Maybe they like using foreign words, but it confuses me when they don’t fit.

David, I think they are digital nomads because they are not tethered to a company’s office and do their traveling around the Inter Tubes instead of physically wandering. ?

Oh puhleeezzzz! Inter tubes? Everbody knows it is the Interwebs… well in America it is anyway.

The real world calls it the internet./sarcasm mode now off. ; )

      What MareM said.

But that does beg the question, what do they mean when they say “We currently live in Tucson, Arizona”? Caveat: I did not watch all their videos (so the below questions may be answered in these videos, but I am not aware of them).

That is, do they own or rent the property where they now live? If rent, then every external support structure for their home on wheels is a possible money loss. But they can still then hook up their tailer and hit the road whenever the whim hits them. Which is a nice concept. But, if they do own the land, why a home on wheels? Since they seem “eco-minded”, why not an on site Earthship tiny home, or a straw-bale house, or something more unique (and probably cheaper)? So many questions.

I think it probably means they are currently renting, which is the reality for many THOW owners. — Tiny House Talk Team

It could be rent-to-own. Financing for thows is tricky and difficult. They are still classified as recreational vehcles and as such depreciate. No idea what the insurance situation is. But why not own land? They can travel around until they are ready to park it. Or some people then sell their thow before building conventional. Some thows are sold with the land. I personally don’t care about their particular situation or story–I just take what I can get from the design.

They own the land. They mentioned it in one of their videos.

“I think they have one of the nicest showers I’ve ever seen in a THOW”

One spends, what… 10 minutes a day in a shower? To me, that is the least of my interests or concerns in home building. Concentration on the bathroom is overdone in my opinion. And, for what it is worth (FWIIW), my wife, by the way, far prefers a bath tub over any shower. And satisfying that wish, really adds interesting complexities when building a tiny house. 😉

As expensive as it is to be Vegan, living in a TH will certainly assist with that!!!! Ha!

Please, please, please don’t make me watch a video. I teach all day, take three night classes, sing with a jazz band, and spend all my “spare” time either planning, grading or doing homework, and learning music. I love this site, and really want to see the pictures of tiny houses which I can look through quickly, but I don’t have time for videos. Anyway to see shots of that wonderful bathroom without having to watch a whole movie?

I know you don’t want to watch the video, but if you click on it and then go to 9:30 (nine minutes and 30 seconds in), that’s where he starts talking about the bathroom. Hope that helps!

videos are excellent? It’s hard to see how a house is realllaid out or how it flows unless there is a video. You always have the option NOT to click on the video. No one is forcing you to do so.

    . . .I think I’m getting old and teste.

teste??? sounds like a male anatomical part. Surely thou meant testy? LOL… made my morning that one did.

Well, since testy is derived from testosterone, I guess either word will do. . . 😉

A neat and compacted TH, is my opinion of it. Too square on the outside.
