This is Aaron’s custom built tiny house on wheels in Borrego Springs, California.

He built it using Dan Louche’s tiny house plans, only he modified the plans a bit!

Aaron’s tiny house is built on a 22 1/2 ft. trailer which he tows with a 1985 Ford F-350.

Love that handrail! It gives a decorative look to something very functional.

I like everything but the placement of the heater. Seems a little too close to the seating area

Looks very nice, but I don’t care for lofts. Check out Tight Space Furniture dot com for plenty of space saving furniture with storage for tiny houses, small apartments or studios.

Lofts are a great way to maximize the space in the small footprint of a tiny house. Otherwise, you either (a) take up 35-40 square feet of space with a bed or (b) have to rearrange the space for sleeping every night and every morning.

This has got to be the MOST photos of any tiny home you have posted in the last few years. Thank you for that and I had hoped to easily see the plans posted on the same page that this man modified, but I bet with some digging around, I could find them.

the sleeping loft seems like a coffin. to small and no head room.

I agree with you. Plus those stairs are an accident waiting to happen. Also I would have put the big window in bathroom where the small one is and put a mirror above sink. Nice job anyway.

Exquisite Craftsmanship! top tier to his taste and aesthetic material selection. as nice a fit and finish as has showed up on this site. I look at the tiny’s shown here every morning. being a carpenter for 46 years, having built 3 tiny’s, everyone needs to experience what it takes to fit a functioning home into an 8 x 22 space where every 1/8 of an inch becomes precious and some appliance, storage and other components end up in the usable space that remains. you could spend $1000’s on high budget materials. This pine and I believe it’s red cedar are crafted rich and beautifully. not too many left that can turn a pile of boards into the excellent fit and finish of this build. I like to look for the quality not arrangement, sense everyone’s taste is different your to be commended.

I am a 59 year old full time college student, unemployed. My husband is 69, on social security, and has Parkinson’s. We lost our jobs and home afyer the so called “financial crisis” of 2008 and are now apartment renting. Van we afford something like this???????? I have an acre of land in the mountains my mother left me but we can’t afford to build.

Your situation is the exact reason many have looked into the THOW movement. For what you’re paying in rent you could buy a tiny home on wheels.

I agree about the heater, but everything else about this home is totally livable. Even though it’s a lot of wood, it’s a warm honey colored wood, so very comfortable.

I agree about the heater being too close to the seating area, and the sleeping loft being a bit claustrophobic (I’d have put the dormers there instead of over the kitchen.

With that said, though….beautiful craftsmanship, great layout, and a decent amount of storage. I really like the little touches scattered around, like the bookshelf over the seating and the natural branch for the ship’s ladder railing.

What a lovely house! There are so many nice details, I can’t even list them, but I really love the clever use of wood, and the fact that you can reverse the head of the bed with that rail. Smart. The stairway is just perfect, too. So open and easy to use.
Congratulations, and warmest wishes for a very happy home.

Beautiful craftsmanship. Love the exterior color. Would like to see different stair treatment – one that dogs would be able to use too 🙂

I just love the layout of the kitchen zone. Enough tools that are easy to reach and a distinct lack of overkill of appliances, well on the benches anyway.

Personally I’m not a fan of pine, but the warmness of this houses use of pine is heartwarming to this critter approaching retirement age. Not quick enough though.

Upon further consideration, I still dislike the too small sleeping loft AND I admire the craftsmanship that went into the mechanical design and build. I realize another $700 for an operating screened sky light in the sleeping loft seems like too much. When the cash can be found, the benefits and value of the sky light would be commensurate.

I lived many years in CA and for myself I needed AC sometimes except when I was right on the coast..

I love the appearance of the pine finish, I really prefer stainless steel sheet goods as a back and side “splash” around the sink and range. Trying to keep the pine clean in those areas will be difficult, regardless of finish on the pine.. My negatives are petty relative to the obvious beauty and exceptional workmanship. also, he can easily add the back splash and sky light when he sees the need.

I commend the builder/owner on a job very well done.

I don’t see an air conditioning system in this house. Borrego springs Ca gets very hot in summer do you live there full time? I live in Palm Desert Ca not far from there, do you own the land which your tiny house is on? Look forward to answers.

I have seen this tiny house before, but only this time did I notice all the very pretty woodworking design. It’s everywhere. . .on the handrail, on the shelf above the stove, in the adorable seat up front, and in almost all the trim. The bathroom is nice, but I love the kitchen. It is just beautiful, and looks useable, too. Very oretty house.
