Tiny Chalet Cabin in Hudson Valley, New York

This post contains affiliate links.

This is a cozy and romantic grey chalet in the Hudson Valley of New York. The home has warm wood-paneled ceilings and whitewashed wood floors for contrast. The queen bed is on the first floor, divided by a sheer curtain.

In one corner there’s a full kitchen with lovely blue tile, and through a barn door, you’ll find a full bathroom as well. A ladder takes you up to a lounge loft where you could hang out and read a book. It would make a really great full-time residence with a little more storage.

Searching for 5-10 individuals to see, purchase and build “our own tiny village” in a WARM sustainable state or part of the world; probably AZ, FL, SC, NC or the “like”.
Timeframe: 2023 most likely. People interested should include those with at least $100K of private savings,
the desire to buy/share/work 5-10 acres of land for a tiny village.
Needed: Proven strategies/plans to confront a Township, proven Civil Engineering person to walk us through to compliance, a holding back for escrow of needed funds, people still working to “be able to pay for their” living needs after the place is built, etc.

There are now….plenty of people who have build tiny villages around the US. It’s time for those who want to do this further…to own their’ own land…AND live Tiny.

I’m Frank from upstate NY…I want to live with “like-minded” individuals. We can protect each other, help each other, etc. We’re living in weird times now.

    @ Frank J. Berry
I am a landowner (100+ a.) in north central Florida who is interested in developing a tiny or small house community, but just not interested in selling the empty acreage. Please respond if we can discuss this further. Thanks!

This spacious and pleasing tiny house is fabulous! An interesting concept to appeal to other tiny house adventurers to gather on one property to form a village. I hope you chronicle the experience of finding that many people who will all get along. Even with finding “like-minded people” (presumably you get more specific about what that means when you are recruiting), there can be personality challenges. It would be interesting, too, to learn what kind of contracts you come up with for sharing the land, how you divide it up, how you arrange the living areas in conjunction to the “functional” areas. What rules you establish for the community…noise levels, yard maintenance, style of individual structures, communal structures and open spaces for recreation, etc…and how that all plays out over the long term. Also, not all States are friendly to tiny living, having minimum square footage requirements. Hopefully that will change as time goes by and requesting variances can be a solution. Ten acres seems quite large but probably great if you intend to grow your own food. As far as this specific tiny house, I might want to make some changes in the kitchen area. I think there is a way to make it a bit larger so there is more counter space plus I would add a small island on wheels to give more storage as well as a preparation area that could also be used for art projects. It would be something that you can move around to suit the needs of your activity. If you can pull this off, I can see this being a good how-to book that could appeal to people of all persuasions.
