I have an interest in this community if they can be flexible. I propose team builders using a local shop facility and purchasing used Park Model RV’s from the Phoenix market and upgrading for future sales. The unit I am doing this with presently should produce a competitive unit that is 50% under the average factory new costs. After all, seniors who have already downsized know WHAT is needed and realize efficiency is tomorrows long term goal. I see a lot of Tiny Homes selling in the $70K ranges and realize a remodeled Park Model will give more usable room for half the costs …There are ALWAYS great ideas in the Tiny Home industry but a LOT of seniors don’t have funds or are not built like Jack Rabbits to do the stairs and ladders.
I’d be willing to give this one a try!
I’m not much for the heat, but Pinetop-Lakeside sits a little up in the mountains that are part of the Gila National Forest.
Google says its at 6804 feet altitude, so the conditions are a little cooler than if you down in a valley somewhere.
I’d do a THOW for this. If I could do something simple, on a 20X8 footprint, I bet I could come up with something that would work out just fine.
….hmmm, 20X8…that’s a shipping container….
There’s a growing number of these types of options around the country… Some use different business models like if someone has land but not the funds to develop it they can opt to have it community funded by those who would want to live there…
Incredible Tiny Homes, in Newport TN, is an example. They have started a community funded development where they took $6K deposits for lots they will create on their property and in return the investor gets the first 2 years rent free to pay them back the investment and the third year starts at just $200 a month…
Though, there are many other ways to do it too… But people can just band together and pool resources to create these communities…
How do you make 2 years of no rent work?
Property taxes must be very favourable to the payee, in Tennessee.
I do like the buy-in option to help create the community, but I’d do a lower buy-in over a shorter time span.
Cudos to Incredible Tiny Homes for being able to do that, but man, that sounds like a tough row to hoe.
