What about Australia? There are too many damn “laws” that restrict you from living in your own, small and affordable home. Disgusts me 🙁

Efforts to legalize alternative housing options like Tiny Houses is happening in multiple countries around the world.

Both New Zealand and Australia are closely following the progress of the US and Canada. Developing tiny house communities, network of builders, advocates working to have the laws changed, etc.

While those facing the hardest opposition are those in the UK and other European nations, to the point moving to another country is something those seeking such alternatives are seriously considering or already have done.

But whichever country you’re in, there are advocates that are fighting for change and resources you can find if you want to help or find more information.

That’s nice but it’s definitely happening too slowly. I built my house in 2009 (Western Australia) and designed a 115 square metre home, but because the land was 458 square metres I had to spend MORE money and extend the design to 120 square metres. It’s ALL about MONEY, no question there!!!

Check into Lake Dallas, Texas. They recently approved a zoning change to allow tiny.

I live in Melbourne Florida. Rockledge Florida is the next town over. I would like to know where in Rockledge is this tiny house community being developed and how do I get more information about it.

It’s good to know this is finally happening. Everyone should have alternatives to expensive & large housing. Thanks.
