Best yet, he did it for a total cost of 8,500 euros, according to the article at Faircompanies. And if he would’ve bought the comparable model, it would have been 34,000 euros.

Before he ever built a camper, he designed and built his own audio speakers. He had also built a number of other things. Which is why it makes sense that he did so well with this, right?

Nice, but still a trailer on wheels. Pop up will require maintenance if not replacement as time goes on.
I agree, it is too complicated. I’d leave off both the roof and side pop out as not needed. I’d also just varnish/epoxy the wood cutting a lot of work, cost.
I think I like the Basecamp better set up.
Done this way with some used things like fridge it could be done for well under $2k. And building it is just like building a model airplane especially is kept simple. KISS
I think it’s wonderful and would love to have one like it. Unfortunately, I’m an elderly female on a fixed income who barely knows one end of a hammer from the other. Thus, I definitely wouldn’t be able to build anything like that myself. Kudos to him for his talent and ingenuity.
Hi from Bob M. Very impressive and professional looking-an impressive build. We are just finishing up a pop-up conversion which will be featured on this web site. We are sorting thru the build photos and drawings to submit the best ones. It took us a bit over a year from start to finish and was a fun project but not out of the reach of an average person to build. We learned a lot along the way. thanks for sharing with us. Bob M.
Amazingly efficient and marketable. Kinda like a Westy without the driveability but at this weight profection. I would imagine in a factory setting this would be a bestseller FAR superior to a teardrop at almost the same weight. Even the working poor could have this to keep from being homeless…Say…That is SUCH a great idea….Why don’t we start a Cult Following and get some crowd funding? Put me on the list as I bet my Prius could tow it.

Wow! Very creative. I’d definitely hire him to build me one, if he lived in the US. It’s done to his own, personal, specifications. I’d hire him to build anything!
