It’s so awesome how many tiny homes are now featuring downstairs bedrooms that are much friendlier on the knees! Janet’s custom K2 from Tiny Idahomes is one of those awesome new builds. She chose a brilliant seafoam green color for all the walls in her tiny house, and it’s bright and refreshing.

Besides the lower bedroom, there’s a loft bedroom area with beautiful architectural windows and a fascinating roofline. The galley kitchen has everything plus a dishwasher, and the bathroom has its own laundry. What do you think?

The color of the floor clashes with the other colors. It is way too dark.

Are the two raised panels on the side of the stairway next to the stove cabinets ? I see no closet in the bedroom or anywhere else in the house – nice that the table folds down but is there room for a loveseat or chair in the lower level to sit and watch tv? Do those dramatic upper windows open? I think they are going to be hard to find shades for and I think I would have wanted at least one wall without a window to place a dresser for storage in the loft – just not feeling it sorry

Yes, stairs has built in storage. The middle one that looks like trim is a pull out cutting board tray. They do custom, so it depends on what the client wants. Some have put off-grid package, like water tanks, into the stairs. Others have done things like use the lower cabinet space for a wine fridge.

While the bedroom is a space you make use as you see fit. So you can make it a living room, a bed room, you can put wardrobe, make it a walk in closet, etc.

While I have nothing against “teal” I think there is too much of it. Would have been better to have one or even two other contrasting colours, in my opinion.

I love the use of color, but agree the teal is a covering too much area. Love the colors in the kitchen, however I feel there is no room on either side of the stove to place a plate or any utensils. I would have placed it on the other side where there would be some countertop beside it. Also agree there is no dedicated closet space. I am finding that in most of these tiny homes, very limited closet space. I get that they are custom and maybe the owners don’t need it. Just opining on what would be sorely lacking for my own purposes. Nice design though and details otherwise!

Storage in smaller spaces is often where there’s opportunity, not that people don’t need it but just that it won’t always be in a set form or location.

For example, often the stairs will be the primary storage medium, building in closet and other storage into the stairs to make the most use of that space it otherwise takes up.

People also employ furniture storage with Wardrobes, Armoires, and many other options that serve easily serve the same purpose as a closet but don’t have to be built in. Along with simply turning a space into a open closet that isn’t enclosed or uses something simple like a curtain. In many cases this can be preferred because different people can prefer different layouts and furniture allows them to easily make changes, personalize the space, and alter the arrangement if it turns out to not be working for them later, but it’s much harder to modify built-ins and they provide no flexibility…

Tiny living often involves creativity and problem solving. So there’s a lot of out of the box thinking to make it work. For example, the stairs has a pull out butcher block tray table, which provides extra space to work while using the kitchen.
