Finally tiny houses that can be rented to actually live in instead of just vacationing. Hopefully more will follow in their footsteps.

Alex, maybe you could list, state by state, the names (and addresses?) of tiny house villages in the U.S.? Or tell us where/how to obtain that? Thanks!

I love the whole tiny house thing, but I don’t get renting one out for that much for a full year. At that price, I would probably just get an apartment. I also don’t get paying a ton for lot rental unless it includes utilities. When I think about why I would want one, it would be to customize my home and save money, not pay almost the same thing I am paying for my mortgage now

If a 28′ tiny house is renting in Durango for $1100 a month, I hate to see what a small apartment costs!

Well with my income of only 693.00 a month this is way out of my price range. Where I live you can rent a 3 bedroom 2 bath house for that price.

$1100 a month defeats the purpose of living tiny!

No, just a reality check that costs will still depend on variables like location. Since, tiny living isn’t going to change the local economy, what the land will cost, how much competition there is to acquire living spaces where you want to be, etc.

So costs have to be compared to what’s normal for the location as you’re not going to have universally the same costs everywhere… In this particular area, even a small 1 bedroom apartment is going to cost more than $1200 a month and the average is over $1400 a month…
