His Stealth, Wheelchair-access Cargo Camper with a Lift Bed

This post contains affiliate links.

Robert was living in Oregon, hunting, fishing, hiking, and chasing his dreams of working at a local restaurant he admired. He had finally made it — he got the job! — when a drunk driver pinned Robert between the vehicle and a tree and Robert lost his leg. For a long time, Robert felt aimless, until he found himself throwing a bed in the back of his utility trailer and spending a few weeks camping.

That was the beginning of Robert’s journey to his nomadic lifestyle. He eventually got a second, larger cargo trailer and made it into his home sweet home. He loves the desert in particular and has made his cargo trailer house meet his needs.

I really enjoyed the story of your life and how it tied into the build of your tiny house. Very inspiring!

Sad that one of the most abused recreational drugs in the world is responsible for yet another tragic accident in which the drunkard was probably barely injured, but the victim ends up maimed or dead. Sad end of a chapter of your life, but what an amazing beginning to a new chapter with its own adventures. Your van is lovely to look at inside and seems very comfortable. The design elements you have used are ingenious and perhaps can be copied by others in their homes to help make their movements easier. You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your incredible story.

My dear departed Father who lived off grid for years in Northern AZ high desert always reminded me that water and shade made even really hot weather bearable. Seems this guy figured it out too.

Tho this clip stopped and I wasn’t able to continue — I was impressed how he made a very good space for himself and being a former chef, knew what he needed in his kitchen!! Wish I could have seen the rest — tho I will say he was totally right about how to downsize — something many of us are still trying to do!!
(Love the butcher block counters but when I had them in the past, I needed to use cutting boards so as not to damage the lovely wood!!

How inspirational, I really enjoyed his outlook and honesty. Thank you I could
see what you mean about the dust. I was thinking one of your bench seating
Would be great for a 50 gallon water tank. I don’t know if you would have to
Balance the load with something heavy on the other bench seat but just putting
It out there. One of my neighbors is a 25 year old Beautiful woman got her BA
Loves her job. Another great neighbor takes her on all kinds of road trips and
Has shown her being in a chair doesn’t imprison your mind. They are on a trip of 26
States of the South and the East Coast they just left. I can’t wait to show him this video
So they can build something like your trailer. She was put in a chair after a drunk driver
And he killed her grandfather, and two nieces. She is a beautiful soul of a woman.
Thank you for your video and I will try out your you tube page. Happy Trails.!!!
