When Lea was diagnosed with endometriosis, she needed to find a more flexible source of income that would allow her to manage her condition and take time off as needed. The city of Albuquerque allows for ADUs, so she and her husband chose to purchase a shipping container and transform it into an Airbnb.
They also have an older adobe home, so their plan is that once the container home has paid for itself, they will move in and renovate their small home. The income stream is just what Lea needed, and she used her amazing design skills to make it quite the home!

As a non-religious type of person, (closer to anti-religious), any time I find a religious item in a home I could be staying in that is not a friend/relative’s home, aka where I am paying to stay there, my decision is to not stay there. Your religious beliefs and mine are different, and I don’t need you trying to shove that religious belief in my face. Yes, I like tiny homes, and eventually plan to build a container home, and then build my larger container home and rent the smaller home but one thing that would not be in the home is religious artefacts such as a cross. This bugged me so much that it was on my mind the entire video, and my eyes kept on coming back to the cross every time it was in view, and that made me miss most of what was in the video…
Seriously a cross isn’t always a religious object and nowhere in the video was any mention of religion. I think you need to get over whatever that is all about. Beyond that this husband is amazing. I like some things about the container home and good ideas but not my style. I do love the deep tub and french doors a lot.
1) Wow, if a cross affects you so much maybe you should give it a miss… seriously.
2) If you are so anti-religion then I sure hope you never fall on hard times, coz 90% plus of religious organisations don’t push their religion. Plus, what about Hindus, and Muslims and etc, etc. They don’t shove their beliefs down anybody’s throat in, you guessed it, 90% plus cases.
3) Focus on the house(s)
Smart idea, to use the big television cabinet with the tuck-away doors as a hide-away kitchen unit. It’s interesting that nearly-new shipping containers are available, and that this container company did the window and awning installation. Is home construction the best use of steel, and how does it compare to wood or SIPs, environmentally speaking? Lots to think about. I’m glad I watched the video. Love the bathroom.
