This is the story of Mark Philbrook and his incredible floating tiny house, known as the SeaSuite. It’s an aluminum houseboat with a highly thought-out design, rooftop deck, and beautiful interior.
The views vary, but inside you can find abundant light thanks to the windows, custom built-in furnishings, a comfortable queen bed, a modern and useful kitchen, a full bathroom, a front deck outside, and there’s even a rooftop deck as well. The video shows the bathroom around 8:24. It has a shower stall and what looks to be a composting toilet!

By far the best thought out houseboat I have found. Nothing wasted, easily able to be modified at manufacture or even aftermarket. For us a bit of window reduction and overall height as well as a separation bulkhead for the forward part of the cabin…For sheltered waters, perfect couples retreat, and life of cruising the intercoastal waterway would be weather-driven but practical. Very seldom I find so little I would change in this type of tiny home, some artistic powder coating while under construction and there is no limits…
As a boat designer and builder, very nice and well done!
I do like the use of the roof as a deck as long as wide hull enough. I’d put my motor controls, steering up there too.
Two especially great ideas: the water bladders instead of tanks, and the pop-off wall panels. I love how you can steer with a hand-held remote. I appreciate that you can walk around the bed; you don’t have to climb over each other, and it would be easy to change the sheets. I like how he raised the dining/seating area for better views, storage, and comfort when chatting with the cook. This plan could be easily adapted to a land house that could be trailered with a wide-load permit.

Wow! I’m in love! That is the coolest thing I have ever seen! It’s lovely and so very organized and spacious. All that and the water, too. It’s great!!
Question: how does it do in rough waters? Some places look low enough to take on water when it gets even a little rough. I live at Lake Powell and we can get pretty crazy water during storms. Otherwise I LOVE this design!!
I think a house like this would mainly stay put, but I could be wrong!
Some waters can be plenty rough even when moored and I was also curious and a bit concerned about how low it rides and the tiny and narrow appearing threshold and stairs.
Stylewise it’s quite lovely and is far better than I have imagined for my own tiny floating home.
A tiny house and boat all in one. It doesn’t get much better than that. I love it!
A very well thought houseboat and a high quality build which has it’s price. It has everything two people are in need of. Unfortunately for inland water cruise only.
LOVE it, and very little I would change, The thing I would change is taking the dinning are out and putting a couch/futon in it with a small entertainment area with a fold up/out table, being on the water your gonna have lots days that you can’t hang outside and you HAVE to have an area to entertain yourself or you’ll go crazy, literally. You can always eat on the table.
