Nice looking tiny home, but the video didn’t work.

Nice house, great it was seen on Harry Connick’s show. He was poking a little fun at the tiny house of course — would have liked to see a few minutes of serious discussion, but show is what it is. Have to go look and see if he had posted his real impressions anywhere.

I liked the jazz band, but Harry didn’t really state his feelings about what’s it like to be in a tiny home. I did take note that he stretch out on the floor and it was only the width of his body. I thought they could be 8 feet. Two extra feet would make it feel less cramped.

      Emily-
The width of the home can be up to 8 1/2 feet, we just built this one different. They are all custom and are built to the buyers specs!

Although I am not in favor of painting over natural wood with paint, otherwise, the house is beautifully done. Attention was paid to details, except for one – and the reason I mention it, is because it is a safety issue. There is a smoke detector in the one loft without the window, but by the time the smoke hits it, it may by then already be too late to get out, depending on the situation. There is no outlet window in that one loft, which makes it not a good idea to sleep in. Otherwise, they did a nice job on this house despite breaking my house designing rule of not painting over wood. 🙂 Perhaps the lack of window situation in that one loft can be remedied.

That smaller loft needs an egress window and /w all that wood it too dark and claustrophobic. There is such a thing as too much wood in my world and I would paint it.

      Denise-
The smoke detector was not an issue, we actually had fire marshals in this and all others several times. The A-pitch loft (no window loft) can be used for whatever the purchaser desires. Typically, we tell clients that those kind of lofts are for more of a storage use, but we staged the home with a full size mattress to show that sleeping there is possible. Video was really cute! Didn’t focus on the house, though.
Great house. Old ladies need stairs, though. I’ll check out the website.
