The small space-saving drop-leaf table is perfect as a workspace or as a dining table.

A unique feature that we love is the beautiful panoramic window that runs the length of the kitchen counter. It brightens up a section of the tiny house that might otherwise have felt dark and narrow.

The kitchen has loads of storage with extra tall overhead cabinets, a giant fridge and freezer, and even a hidden dishwasher.

The step ladder leads up to a full-sized loft, and the futon converts to a bed, so this home has space to sleep six people.

Behind the step ladder is an open-air closet space with coat hooks, wall-mount shoe storage, and a boot tray.

What if you’re using the bathroom while someone is sleeping, then wakes up and they want to leave the bedroom? Lol!

Nothing, they can just walk by you… Hardly the only home in the world with an arrangement like this…

I have seen it in a lot of RVs and etc. and it still bugs me. I need privacy and a locking door to use the washroom, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. To each their own.

There’s just always trade offs, keeping the home within road legal width limits generally means you’re going to have to deal with a linear layout. You can opt to go wider but it becomes much harder to move and higher costs as the trade off.

While putting the bathroom behind the bedroom means guest would have to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom… Put it on the other side of the home and you have to walk further in the middle of night and the living space will be boxed between the bathroom and bedroom and can seem smaller… You can try putting the bathroom all on one side and create a hallway but that takes up space you can no longer use out of the total sq ft available… Again, always trade offs…

Though, if that someone else can wait, the bathroom can be closed off with pocket doors on both sides of it…

Perfect for me! I love the beautiful wood and all the space for good-sized appliances. It certainly helps that the views from all windows reflect a lovely woodsy scene!!!

I really like the design of this home. I would change the closet in the bedroom for hanging clothes and I would enclose the stairs below them to better use that dead space. Oh and I’d so away with the large stove and get a smaller one. Totally do away with the dishwasher as I don’t need one. Who is the builder of this home? It didn’t say.

I really need a tiny, one-room/separate bath. I am in a electric wheel chair much of the time. Often l fall. I do have an electric HOYER-LIFT which l would center in the house … crawl or slide over to roll myself into the seat to reposition into my wheel chair. My present home is way too small for five people and a bedside potty and a toaster oven and small refrigerator. I really need a HOMESTEAD RESCUE!

Hi Luiz, because this is an Airbnb they didn’t mention who built it in their description. But you could ask them via Airbnb messenger 🙂

Hi Teresa, because it’s an Airbnb they are renting out, they didn’t mention the builder. But you could always contact the hosts through Airbnb and ask 🙂

Where is the decent sized closet for hanging clothes, pants, coats, plus drawers for tee shirts, underwear, socks, hats, gloves, etc. etc.??
Why such a large stove? And maybe a small door in front of the toilet – no body wants to walk by a smelly toilet!

It’s set up as an AirBNB, so the space under the stairs is the closet. Designed for people to drop off their luggage, put away their shoes, and hang their coats… Along with the smaller closet in the bedroom…

Understand, no one is going to stay there very long, there’s just what is needed for a comfortable stay, but everything has to be easily cleaned and made ready for the next guest once the last one has left…

While the bathroom has pocket doors on both sides that allow it to be closed off and a vent you can leave on to air it out… So shouldn’t have a issue with smells unless you forgot to do something…

There is perfection in the world! This house has every thing i would want. I think i could actually live in this tiny piece of heaven.

My dad had an RV with a similar floor plan and both bathroom doors were lockable to ensure privacy. It looks like there is a pocket door at each end of the bathroom so it is safe to assume there are locks. If someone is using this as inspiration to build/order their own THOW, you could add locks to your own order. That would be important for me, too.

I like the floor plan of this though I don’t have a need for the loft space. Eliminating the ladder would allow for even more cabinet and counter space for the kitchen, though what exists in this one is generous. I would also want a regular, large refrigerator. And making the living room space just a bit bigger would allow for a big, comfy couch or daybed. I’d also like it if the window under the kitchen cabinets was a bit taller. I realize this would mean less storage but I’d rather not have to bend over to see outside. Overall, this is a very nice tiny house with pleasing materials and I could see myself living in it comfortably. I think I would use fewer materials on the exterior, though. For my taste and if I was building one to live in, I would want it to be less busy looking. I love that you post such interesting homes for us to look at…and possibly stay in…because it spurs the imagination.

I like this! the living area is a bit boxy, but the rest is nice. I like the bathroom where it is because if you have company, they can use the bathroom at night without disturbing you as you can close the bedroom door. I have never understood the need for such large kitchens in any home, especially in a tiny home. I would take some of that kitchen space and make more living space. Otherwise, it’s a nice home.

Many of these Tiny Homes have the same issue as travel trailers/RVs….limited space and limited layouts. You may get more in quality or longevity based on type of materials used but the bottom line is the same. More quality, better appearances and the price goes higher. I like seeing the many designs and layout options knowing most are beyond my financial reach. So everyone gets to see what works for them and which ideas they may be able to incorporate into their own dream home. Personally, I do not want total electric. I have seen far too many power outages and feel variety in power source and heat/cool is better.

Well, there’s more different than just levels of quality or longevity. RV’s are specifically only intended for recreational usage and most are production scale products made in model series with limited range of options, which generally makes layout options much more limited for them. While Tiny Homes are intended as homes and most are custom built with a wide range of options. Some options will just be chosen more often than others but there’s more layouts possible when its custom…

There’s just always trade offs, custom does cost more and can go a lot more, but you aren’t stuck with a standard design when it can be custom built and can get far more creative with the design and optimize it for a specific owner.

Space limitations is mainly because of things like conforming it to meet specific standards like road legal size limits. However, Tiny Homes don’t have to always conform and do have the option to go beyond those limits. So more a limitation of the choices being made rather than a limitation of Tiny Homes themselves…

Everything just has its costs… Going bigger, higher quality, more complexity, higher skill requirements, more materials, more labor, more stuff, etc. So while a lot is possible, multiple factors can converge to limit choices but not always, as people can figure out alternative ways to get it done but that can be few and far between. Making it seem like options are more limited than they actually are but it typically has more to do with the limits of your imagination and budget…

Take “Two Hands and a Tiny House” on youtube, also has his own website, his first build was to challenge himself to get one done for under or around $4K, he got close and may have done it if he didn’t also set a time limit to get it done… Next, which he’s still working on presently, he is building 2 THOWs that will interlock together to form one larger structure… So even while remaining movable and road legal, he can end up with a structure that’s nearly double the size of what he would otherwise do and can get more creative on the layout options for it…

There’s other examples where people have done walk in closets, put a bathtub in the loft, put a hot tub on the roof, put together 3 bedroom and 2 baths in only just over 500 Sq Ft, created a THOW that can be rotated vertically to create a 2 story structure when parked, created a folding roof design that allows the structure to expand to a 2 story structure when parked, turned other things from grain silos to containers into Tiny homes, alternatives from tree houses to house boats, some have done complete re-imagining of what a home could be and how it can function, etc.

So limits are often what you make of them… People just tend to do what’s easiest and quickest but if you have the imagination, knowledge, and time, it’s possible to go further…

There never seems to be a comfortable sofa in any of the tiny homes I,ve seen

    July 16, 2022, 8:27 pm

FINALLY! A tiny house with a wall for the tv to hang on opposite the sofa and upper kitchen cabinets with doors!!!!! And it looks great!!!! So many have given the excuse for open shelving so it looked more spacious but these upper cabinets don’t make it feel smaller at all! My point has been proven! Thank you for someone finally using common sense in this regard! And a queen bed that isn’t shoved up against the wall!
