Haaks Nano House: 192 Sq. Foot Tiny Home

This post contains affiliate links.

Last week we showed you the super unique Haaks Opperland Campervan that unfolds off the back of a tiny flatbed truck, but our reader James D. did some great sleuthing on the Haaks website and shared that the company also sells tiny homes with no truck that are much more affordable.

This “Wilg” model sleeps two and comes in at about 192 sq. ft. The list price is € 36.450,80, or about $40,000. This is a really neat modular home that has a lot of potential. It can also be made fully off-grid (for additional money, of course). Want one? If you’re willing to pay the international shipping you can contact the company here.

A very good idea to separate the toilet from the shower. I think the roof slopes the wrong way and unless it is meant for a rainwater collection system. $40K is probably $25K above what I would value it at with premium finishes and appliances as I do not see elaborate water collection and filtration system included. This could easily be adapted to a 20′ container with a better window system instead of these special order glass. That price must include delivery, hook up, permitting and furnishing. Even then it’s at Luxury prices.

Do you sell 20′ containers complete for $15,000? I came up with over $4,000 just for the internal stuff…not including materials for the shell, insulation, or the builtins and walls and plumbing and HVAC, electrical or labor. Shipping containers also need insulation and sheetrock/wall material. How did you come up with your numbers? Also, this seems to be a ten foot wide unit, not eight, so you might want to refigure.

Agreed Bill, I wonder why it has taken so long for westerners to adopt the benefits of separating the toilet from bathing, toothbrushing, and the other grooming activities!

We had a separate toilet in one of our homes growing up and it was great!

Nice exterior, size though interior needs to be open with bath, kitchen at 1 end and let the owners use regular furniture. I’m hoping to sell something like that next yr with full solar.
And TH done well can be a great business if overhead is kept low.
