Isn’t this the million dollar unit? Saw the price last year. Don’t quite remember it. DO remember the jolt it gave me. I would HATE to have to buy, you know, like a tire for it, never mind a starter motor. Can you park this near a house where someone who could afford it would live? Or do you have to have another $400,000 property somewhere else with a secure building and a night watchman? I’m serious. Who would buy this? And, don’t be glib, it’s a fair question.

LOL………… did they get the scum bags licence yet? The vehicle is very nicely done and seems that it would be functional in almost any terrain.

Simple, the people who would buy something like that are the same people who buy expensive cars, you know, the people with more money than brains.

Oh come on… they got money without brains? Get real sunshine, get real. Remember, the more expensive cars (and other vehicles) are on the whole a lot more safer than your run of the mill vehicles.

If I had the money would I buy it? Damned right I would. Plenty of wannabe explorers would be willing to pay through the nose to rent one of these for a couple of weeks at a time.

C’mon Dave!! Rich people are smart?! ALL rich people MUST be smart? Or what? They wouldn’t inherit Daddy’s fortune? TMZ is a show focusing on rich idiots. W was president, made MILLIONS while on the job, and he’s a moron. The world is filled with rich idiots and destitute genius’s. Money has no specific intellect associated with it. You’re thinking of greed or dishonesty, or theft. Even those are not the rule. There are no rules. 🙂

    Wow, that’s some vehicle!

  • Anna Granfors
    October 27, 2015, 11:38 am

Um, yeah…it looks pretty marvelous, but it’s more like “Mad Max–The Prequel” than a tiny/small house.

And in years to come, when climate change has made this planet unlivable, it might be just the thing for going from areas that’ve grown too hot, then going elsewhere when it gets too cold. Either way, you’d better have some serious “one-percenter” money to buy it.

          November 5, 2015, 11:52 am

No, Liz and David…you won’t die (unless from laughing). You will, however, be experiencing (and witnessing) deteriorating weather…ask the islanders who are watching their homes slip underwater, even now.

Oh, and do you have children and/or grandchildren…? When they come of age, I doubt they’ll be sharing your scornful hilarity.

    • Eric
      November 5, 2015, 5:55 am

If… IF climate change makes this planet unliveable, then there wouldn’t be anyone left to go from too hot to too cold.

As Mr Spock would have said, “It isn’t logical captain, it isn’t logical.”

      • Anna Granfors
        November 5, 2015, 11:38 am

Perhaps “unlivable” was a poor descriptor. But we’ve already seen east coast winters that would make anyone in their right mind (equipped with a beast like this) want to drive to warmer conditions. And if you happened to drive to the west coast to escape, you’d have a nice few months there–until raging wildfires threatened the massive gas tank of your mecha “tiny home”. So back to cooler climes. And that’s what we’ve got TODAY. I doubt that you’re climatologist enough to predict exactly what things will be like five, ten, or more years from now–I know I’m not–but in those years, the habitable areas will become fewer and fewer.

I give up. We live in a world that *knows* climate change is real, and yet does nothing substantive to try to slow it down. I think I’m going to retire (two years, eight months) to the midwest…maybe that small home community that Alex featured a week or so ago in Michigan, and live out the rest of my days there. All I know is that this tank, looking like some attack vehicle from Agents of SHIELD, is (while technically very sophisticated) part of the problem–a gas guzzling behemoth–rather than part of the solution. And it’s too damned expensive, unless as I said, you’re in the upper 1%. Have fun with it!

        • Rob
          November 5, 2015, 5:43 pm

Gas-guzzling behemoths aren’t *necessarily* a problem, for example if they aren’t driven very often and were build 50 years ago so the energy has already been used to build them. (not the case here of course, at least with the vehicle age)

I bet there are plenty of people living in new homes with double glazing driving a new Prius and thinking they are saving the world. When the energy used to build both of those items is huge.

You have look at the entire lifestyle package.

        • Anna Granfors
          November 5, 2015, 10:13 pm

Well, for some reason there’s no “reply” option on Rob’s comment below, so I’ll have to reply here.

I think I speak for everybody in the room (that’d just be me) when I say “wuh?” (© Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

        • Rob
          November 7, 2015, 6:34 pm

I’ve never watched Buffy so don’t get the reference, but what I’m saying is that you can own the biggest, ugliest, most gas-guzzilingest truck in the world and if it’s old (IE built say 30 years ago so whatever environmental damage was done is already done) and never (or seldom) driven it’s STILL more friendly to the environment than buying a new Prius and driving it to work every day.

It’s our total lifestyle package that counts WRT our individual carbon footprint, not the ownership or otherwise of a particular piece of kit.

Now this does not apply to the vehicle that’s the subject of this thread because clearly it’s new and a lot of resources were used to provide someone with a nice shiny new truck/house. As to how much it gets driven, we can’t know that.

Amazing how compact something on the outside can be but the inside looks much larger. Very nice!!

It has some good ideas that I am going to add to my list. And I like the soft touch of the orchid with the snow in the background window. It definitely has a wow factor.

Yes shades of Mad Max on the outside BUT what luxury on the inside. It must cost a fortune but if I was given one I wouldn’t need anywhere else to live on or off grid.

  • Mike

The premise of this vehicle is a little worrisome as it looks coldly militaristic. Images of WWIII and zombie apocalypse immediately come to mind. The technology, gadgets and fit/finish however appeal to my inner geek.

Someone who works for this company needs to learn how to spell “electricity”, not electrisity! Lol

Nice vehicle if you can afford it. Definitely not for me with my wage of $33 an hour!

I agree… why anyone would think that an American wrote that… rg&dfc
