hi alex…i like this house, but that last step going up to the loft is so
high..you would have to have daddy long legs to get up there! what were they thinking?

It’s funny because it doesn’t look like there’s any reason you couldn’t have an extra step there.

I guess the guy who designed and bought it wants it that way 🙂

It is because when getting up into or out of lofts you actually need space to put your legs. If a step was there your knees would be up around your ears. This is quite common in tiny houses.

That high step is actually really good for a couple of reasons. First it allows you to stand up typically, so you don’t have to crouch getting onto the loft floor, and second you can actually sit to enter your loft rather than kneeling and crawling in.

Your comment is the reason I do not like mobile lofts. Many of us are getting older and less agile to ‘have to crawl into things’. Many mobile lofts are too short forcing us to bend over or crawl around which can be hard on knees and backs. I prefer lofts in a stationary home where heights can be adjusted to accommodate the people using them. Another issue with mobile loft designs is the lack of barriers to prevent falls to the lower level. Their limited height can also be a barrier for placing or removing furniture pieces that are not built in.

Joyce, personally I could not agree with you more! My response was to address only the concern that Pam had about why the last step was so much lower than the loft. Any time I don’t have to crawl on my 68 year old knees is a good time!!

I really like the lofts. I just wouldn’t use them bccause my 70 yr old knees can’t take them, but visually they’re nice. Looking at these types of lofts, I’d use them for storage, like out of season cloths and Christmas decorations. My knees can take it with knee pads from time to time, but not on an on going basis. Of course there are others our age who don’t have knee problems. Its one of the things I like about tiny/small houses, you can customize for your tastes and physical abilities. Some people like large kitchens, some want main floor bedrooms, others aren’t keen on too much living space. Each of us can design our own tiny/small home to meet our own needs. then of course we will join the rest of the crew to find where we can move the home to.

I love this one. I would do a large rug instead of the carpet in the loft.

This tiny house does not remind me in the slightest of the French Quarter in any way…! But it is a beautiful Tiny House by all means, and it’s design is absolutely fantastic, and very spacious indeed…! To sweeten the pot even further the price is a extremely acceptable as well at only $55,000.00.. It is a true winner in my book…

Hey Zac, I’ve noticed a LOT of tiny houses with what I would call inappropriate names. I think they just pull one out of the air to be… well where I come from we’d called it trendypoos!

I would tend to think you are right, and they do pull the names out of the air… Whats better is the name you called it trendypoos..! LoL…! I have to remember that one… I know a man who had sold fire wood for your house’s fireplace, or wood stove, and one day down at the local cafe, and I said to him hows business, and he gave me that old joke stacking up, LoL…! So I turned to him after a good chuckle, and said that bad huh.. Before long we were just sitting there looking in to our coffee silently.. About a minute, or two had gone by And he say’s to me maybe he needed a new sign out front to catch the passers by, and I said what you gonna put on it, when Jen the waitress come to ask if we wanted more coffee, and turns to him saying ya know that would you sold me was really aromatic it made the house kind smell good.. We both looked at each other, and the next day on the way for my morning coffee I passed his house and in front he was out there hanging a sign saying Aromatic fire wood , gives your home a pure aromatic country smell.. Little while latter he comes in the cafe, and sits down at the counter next to me.. So I ask him hows business he says great I just got a order for two cords of wood, and another after I got done hanging my new sign.. So I said what kind of wood did you sell her anyway…? He ansered just some yellow pine I cleared to expand the playground down by the church…. Aromatic firewood….! Lmao….!

In college people would just name their houses whatever they liked: The Treehouse, The Bouncehouse, Rivendell — so these names don’t bother me nearly as much as they do you haha.

Beautiful, but did I miss a dining table? Other than that, it seems to have everything we would want, without feeling crowded.

The video is great to show how people can move around within the space – much with ease. Beautiful color scheme. That loveseat sofa pictured could also be a twin hide-a-bed. A full size hide-a-bed may fit but may seem crowded with the side walls. Having a washer/dryer instead of a closet is a must for some folks. Overall I do like this design. The price is so competitive with what I found in double-wide mobile homes a few short years back but this home appears more sound structurally. I never heard clearly what the length was.

Yes I think a hide-a-bed is a great idea! Good for guests 🙂
