I don’t mean to be critical, but whatever would possess a person to paint those logs and destroy the natural beauty of the wood along with it’s warmth?? I wonder how much also it would take to fix that issue and strip the logs of that awful paint? This isn’t a decor taste issue – there are some no-no’s and that is one of them. I am pretty sure painting those natural logs instead of clear coating them reduced the resale value of that home. The porch and view are awesome and makes me miss N.C. – lush and green with rolling hills as seen in the picture. The flooring is beautiful. That home is a perfect size for a retiree.

I say to each their own with how they want to paint, but I will point out that other than a couple small decor items here and there and the general idea of a dark exterior with a light interior, there is little about this house that stands out as something I would see in a Nordic country. As one example, Scandinavian style whitewashing is done with lye and then oil. This way you get those beautiful clean looking light wood without the streaked effect from watered down paint.

800 sq ft. is hardly tiny! It is a smallish cottage.

It’s all relative, people judge size by what they’re used to but what people are used to varies across the world… Average house size range from highs of over 2700 Sq Ft to lows of under 500 Sq Ft…

Places like the UK, for example, average just over 900 Sq Ft and would probably consider this pretty normal size… While someone who comes from an area where houses are much larger, even exceeding 5000 Sq Ft in some neighborhoods, can very easily believe this to be tiny…

Besides, one of the focus points of the tiny movement revolves moving to legalize housing options that have otherwise become illegal due to restrictions like minimum sq ft requirements that can prohibit anything 1000 Sq Ft or less… So, basically in the same proverbial boat, legally speaking…

Options like ADU’s, for example, would easily fall into this size range, and are one of the ways they are trying to legalize tiny homes and get them accepted into the existing housing market…

While it’s also relative compared to how it’s used… 800 Sq Ft can be a lot of space for one person but very tiny for a large family or other examples where the limits of the space usage can be pushed to extremes… Like someone running a home business, etc.

So opinions on it can vary…

What a cute and cozy little home. That fireplace 🥰😍🥰😍to die for! And I love how they brightened it up with the white paint (or is it called whitewash?) But!!! The views would have me sitting outside no matter what the weather, as they are stunning 😍
