Family of Four’s School Bus Conversion

This post contains affiliate links.

This is the story of a family of four called the Broken Compass Nomads who bought a bus and converted it into their tiny rolling home.

We’re a family of 4 – Ed, Bec (hi!), Eliza and Orrie, who will be traveling the United States for the next 2 years in our skoolie conversion with our 3 cats (Popper, Gus, & Lynx) and 2 dogs (Flynn and Cash). In August of 2017, we bought a bus. Not just any bus- The Broken Compass.2

I love the teal throughout! Very nice layout. Is that a mini fridge in addition to the upright fridge/freezer?

It’s a freezer… 4th photo down shows its contents of frozen packaged food… and 5th photo shows they also have a pantry…

Just looking at this and wondering, how many “old” busses are in some bus graveyard are there and how many homeless people are there? How many are reportedly “cluttering” up our streets! These people show how to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. How can we show the folks in control that this is a solution? I admire this family for their ingenuity and courage. Thanks for giving us a peek.

Wonder if they disengage the speedo cable on the car when towing… if not the mileage is gonna go up unnecessarily.
