As an older person, I really like the first floor bedroom. Love the windows and the screen door. Open and airy.
    Really well thought-out design.

I do, too! Only issue for me would be I might have to move the loft ladder over to access the microwave, and this old lady isn’t good with climbing with my new knee.

The escapevintage.com wouldn’t come up to access the builder. WI is half way between family in IL and daughter in MN. Would like to know more.

This is ridiculously cute! LOVE the fact that it has a non-loft bed as well as a full-size tub…with a washing machine as well! Brilliant use of space.

Lori, I agree! It’s nice to see some floor plans that look nice and have the bedroom on the first floor.

Well laid out and has all necessities. Small lot with trees and we are home

This is a great design for people who don’t want loft sleeping areas. However, for full-time living, I would like a full stove with an oven.
Also, as I have seen in this and other tiny homes, the microwave/convection oven is way above eye level. Am I the only one who is concerned about the dangers of accidents and burns?

The people who place the cooking equipment up high obviously never cook. I’d always move those things down lower. You never want to take something out of a microwave and have it drop or spill on you. Third degree burns for sure.

Linda, I had the same concerns about the microwave—that and the fact it is way on top the fridge. I’m only 5′ tall and would need a step-stool to get to it. I don’t even like them above the stove. Build the space to bring it down to counter level if possible.

Sorry, I hit “report” by mistake. I just wanted to say, “Go, Team Shorties!” I’m a towering 5’1″. The step stool is my most important kitchen tool! ?

LOL,short people are really nice folks.I sure miss my friend,he stood 4′ tall so don’t worry about the height thing cause there is a STEP STOOL THAT MAKE IN TO A CHAIR AND FLIPS INTO A 3 STEP STOOL.AND ANYONE CAN MAKE IT IF THEY WANT TO. 😉

Excellent price! And it could be easily put on a foundation if you want. I’d probably put in a corner sofa instead of a straight one but overall, great layout!

The roof overhangs make this look like a real home. I like the interior as well. My own preference, however, would be to move the bathroom next to the bedroom and substitute a shower for the tub. Pocket doors are an awesome space-saver.

Exterior shot against twin silos… POW!

Set design and photography… thumbs up!

Although it messes with weight-and-balance, clean liveable passageway bow-to-stern.

    Real live eaves… nice touch.

    Nods and smiles all around.

Love it! Finally a place that has real windows, of a good size that open so you can let in the air and there’s windows on the front of the house!

As I live in the northeast it would be helpful for me to know the R-value of the various Tiny Houses that are featured. This is especially true for the ones available for purchase since I’m torn between building or buying one.

Google for tiny homes for sale. You will find some LISTED for sale. My last comment was being delayed for ‘moderation’. Apparently, it did not make the cut. Why? Not sure but let’s see if this one makes it.

I love this house! They managed to get a full bathroom and a downstairs bedroom in it. I could live here. The only change I would make would be to put the little end table by the bed on the window wall. That way there would be room to walk around the bed to make it. It’s incredibly difficult to make a bed that is shoved up against the wall.

The exterior is so darn cute. Add a deck and call this place home.

  • Jeanette
    September 17, 2016, 10:55 pm

I love the bedroom not being up in the loft and lots of windows AND a fly screen door. As I am an older single lady I would have a smaller bed & larger wardrobe. Lounge area needs a more comfy sofa rather than sitting upright watching TV. Agree that microwave up high is an accident of spillage waiting to happen. I live in Melbourne, Australia so would need to buy the plans & build here. With a few tweaks, I love it 🙂

This is a beautiful tiny house, like all the Escape models. As I looked it over, I had to wonder where do you put a broom or mop? Where do you keep even a small printer? Where do you put a coat or even an extra pair of shoes? Where is pantry storage? If this were 5 feet longer with more storage, it would be perfect – for me, anyway! As it is, it’s a perfect vacation home but not really suitable for fulltime living in my opinion. Too bad because it is seriously cute!

Mary, Google ‘Adventurous Couple Build Brilliant Tiny House On Wheels Living Big In A Tiny House’. This couple dropped the loft to the height of their frig which increased the height of the loft by 1 1/2 to 2 feet; All this depends on how tall you are because you will lose height in the bathroom. Use the loft for storage, clothes–build a closet–, office or whatever you want. Also, and maybe more important, the video has stairs that take up about the same amount of space as the latter and make it much safer to enter and exit the loft. A builder should have no problem incorporating this in your THOW. Good luck and best wishes.

Lovely tiny home. Well done. I would use the loft for an extra bed and storeage. Could you build extra storage in the floor?

This one is brilliant! Adore the first floor bedroom ( older knees just won’t deal well with loft bedrooms!!); full size sink; fridge and bath are all great. The floor plan is workable. What would it take to tow something like this?? That would be very helpful info to have.

Probably one of my favorite tiny homes! Absolutely love the first floor bedroom. I would hate to go up and down stairs every time I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night so this is wonderful. This model just seems to feel like home to me. What’s the square footage of this home? I’m constantly looking for tiny home designs that have a first floor bedroom but that aren’t huge on square footage. This one seems to fit that characteristic pretty well!

This is exactly what I need. Too bad I did not have the funds, or the opportunity to be one of the first to buy. I hate to see how much it cost to transport it, to me!

But, I will surely keep Escape Homes on my list! Better go buy some more lottery tickets, and fill out those PCH sweepstakes!

The kitchen does not have much. I would like a larger stove/oven or a convection/microwave. I, also, want a range hood, over my cook top…especially if gas is used!

Is there any air exchange, in this house? Anything to keep mold from forming, inside? Wish the Split were in the living room…don’t think I could sleep with an A/C blowing right over my head. I can feel the stiff neck! A floor fan, at the door, to the bedroom, or one at the top, of the bedroom door, would draw the cool air, into the bedroom, from the living room. I would, also, love the white noise of the fan..to sleep well.

Also, I do not want a lot of windows. I have a rare genetic disease, and cannot have ultraviolet light hitting my skin. So, I would get rid of some of them. Use that space for storage.

Still the best layout I have seen, so far!

This tiny home is just beautiful! Love all the added features they have offered in the home! I think this is the first one that I saw with flower boxes, it adds a nice touch to the home! The screen door with it’s options to have a storm door included. Love all the added storage throughout the home and all twelve windows that bring in a lot of light. It gives it an open and airy feeling! Great looking home! Thanks for sharing!?

They went up on the price. This is my favorite THOW. I still would change things.

Love the main floor bedroom, however I would have a single window towards the end of the bed, for privacy reasons. Also if I were living in it solo, I would go for a double bed over a queen to give more storage space with a larger night table on the other side of the bed making it possible to walk around the bed for making the bed . this would also allow you to access the storage drawers from both sides of the bed making it easier to organize & access the items stored under the bed. The bathroom is fantastic, and adds to making it a very spacious perfect space for one person. The bathtub is fantastic but for those of us with knee troubles, a large walk in shower (and possibly a built in seat) might be a more practical option. I would also move the microwave from above the refrigerator (it would be a definite problem to reach it) to the lowered counter top beside the sink and use the space above the refrigerator to store seldom used kitchen items/dry goods. Love the barn style door for the bedroom and suggest a pocket door for the bathroom which would give more usuable space in the bathroom. With the modifications it would be the absolute perfect space for me & my furbabies. For guests you can put a good mattress in the loft and the sofa would do in a pinch. So, a perfect space.
