One XL Wide Tiny House from Escape

This post contains affiliate links.

This is the One XL Wide Tiny House on Wheels from Escape. It’s wider than the standard version so you get more space overall throughout. Even though, I must say, the standard width Escape tiny homes feel just fine inside. But a little extra space can be nice, especially if you’re sharing your tiny house with others.

So once you take a look at it below, you can see the extra space right away. It’s nice to see this extra wide option from Escape isn’t it? So what do you think of this new option from Escape? Do you like it? Would you buy it?

Don’t at all generally like “Escape” Tiny Homes. They are
‘uneventful looking.” But, the lay out of this is FAB! Kitchen appliances could be smaller for my preference. The stack pack washer dryer combo is grand. Finally like one. Upper walk-way connecting both lofts neat. I’d tweek it a tad but, still like. It could use a wood stove & darker wood; steps for storage.

Sorry, WRONG! Hated ESCAPE Tiny Homes so much would NEVER have commented! You got the wrong gal! “Can’t say anything nice, say nothing at all.” Good motto to live by! Might choose to get to know followers better.

Haha, Cynthia, just wondering about that second comment. Can’t quite figure out if you’re giving yourself a good talking-to or what.

nowhere here, nor on their website, nor on the youtube video, does it say what “wide” equates to! … are we looking at a full 10’6″? it doesn’t look that wide …

I love a great deal of this design! Looking to see if there are drawers or closets on the obverse side of the stairs, ie: in the Living Room. Doesn’t show in either the photos or in the video. Does anyone know?
Also concerned about lack of storage in bedroom areas. (I have CLOTHES! I have BOOKS! I have dogs with leashes and STUFF) Though I suppose we could design in one of those wonderful beds on a piano hinge that lifts and stores so much around and below. Escape Company peoples, your thoughts?

It is annoying that they don’t say or print the width.

They do, just have to know where to look with them… Wide is among their custom options, which usually requires a quote but on the sales page they have a itemized PDF of costs and it lists… “Wide Version- 12″ wider + Taller”

So a foot wider than the standard model…

I don’t usually like the Escape models but this one is absolutely fabulous. I could see myself living there and having kids stay if they want or friends stay (for a bit 😆) and I like that I can pick my own living room furniture (perhaps a less worn couch😉) and yes that stove😍. Bathtub! Big fridge. I could go on all day. I love it.

So, I like the additional width, but the escape tiny homes make me think of plywood boxes with windows thrown into the mix. The monotone wood finishes are lifeless and the interior layouts are basic and drab. So are the exteriors.
There is not a whole lot about these that grab me and make me want to run out and buy one. Does Escape let you design your own? Additionally, the extra height is nice, but is it necessary? Can this be towed down a city street or would permits be required and power lines etc. need to be removed in order to get this behemoth box to its destination? Sorry, not feeling it.

Anything larger than road legal size would require a moving permit but they do have custom options if you order one to be built for you… This is just an already built model that they are selling…

I really like this one. There is plenty of storage and light. I love the woodwork. I could probably stand in the upstairs in this one and that makes me so happy.
