Daughter Lives with Mother in Tiny House for 3 Days

I just got done reading the article and adventure that a mother and daughter just had living in a tiny house together for three days.

Meet Melia Robinson and her mother, Vicki. Melia is a reporter for Business Insider. And they survived 3 days living in 128 square feet together.

She describes it as ‘survived’ but from the looks of it, I think they had a lot of fun. In her own words, “We survived. We didn’t once go at each other’s throats. But I don’t know that I could ever go back.”

I’m curious about Melia’s thoughts on living in a tiny house by herself. So I asked her on Twitter. Join the conversation!

What an interesting article. She brings up some tiny-house issues I’ve always wondered about but was afraid to ask (i.e. the bathroom).

    Really enjoyed the read!

Great story! Ok, at least the “negative” she mentioned could all be addressed if she were to consider living in a TH, aspects we could all understand. Move bathroom away from kitchen, window in bathroom, or fantastic exhaust fan of some kind, door on bathroom…
Add square footage…I recently saw one that was 207 sq ft, not including the lofts. Great for one person, but for two and long-term I would definitely increase that if financially able.
More space added to kitchen to allow proper cooking…
-20 degrees? Ouch! I am not an expert but there must be a way besides freezing next to a tiny space heater-how many times we hear about TH’s being toasty ? I too would hate to be cold… A deal breaker. Up the BTU’S!!!! 🙂
Hope the experience does not discourage her from downsizing in the future….:)
