Tru Form tiny just released a tour of one of their gorgeous custom homes which they built for a couple in Washington who just got a spot in a local tiny house community. This home totally bucks the “white shiplap” tide with its bold colorful interior of deep navy blue contrasted with warm acacia wood.

There’s a really cozy reading nook over a bump out built on the tongue of the trailer, a loft bedroom with a little built-in office, and a lovely galley kitchen with a drawer dishwasher. Enjoy it below!

VIDEO: Journey with Jen: A Walkthrough of Urban Payette (2022 Build)

Story:

A couple in Washington, who work full-time and partly remote, first searched for a place to park their tiny. Their research revealed an option in their area that seemed perfect, but had no vacancies. So, they hopped on the waitlist, and looked forward to the day they’d get their very own perfect parking place. Over 18 months later, they still hadn’t got the call, and felt their tiny home dreams were falling farther and farther away. One day, they looked at a different site and fate worked in their favor with a rare vacancy. This new site also had another Tru Form Tiny owner there whose tiny home was in production at the time, and the couple saw it as a sign to start building their very own. They opted for an Urban-style Kootenay tiny home, a 28-ft. travel trailer with a bump out, lofted sleeping area, galley-style kitchen and storage stairs. Tru Form Tiny’s designer worked with the couple to customize their home with one of the main features being – COLOR! Instead of the standard white-painted shiplap, these tiny homeowners went all-in with a deep navy blue and painted the entire interior in Sherwin Williams’ Gale Force. The home’s modern-style white trim, and stunning acacia hardwood floors created a harmonious combination of depth, dimension and design. The gable-style roofline was finished with clear cedar wood, with an added skylight to help take in the lush Pacific Northwest forest views.

Normally I don’t like dark walls… but this really just works. I vote 19 1/2 out of 10

Just shows what you can do with colour. Now if they only did a decent size on 1 level I think I’d be almost in heaven.

I’m not a lover of navy, but in this home with all the beautiful wood, and lots of white, it really works. Absolutely wonderful home and very inviting. I love the living room. Where did they get the very slender white living room chest with the drawers?
