Couple Living Legally in Off-Grid Tiny House & Homestead

This couple is living legally in their off-grid tiny house and homestead! They live in a 24 ft. THOW in Arizona and describe themselves as “digital entrepreneur nomads” promoting “a minimalistic debt free lifestyle.”

You can see a few screenshots of their crisp, modern tiny house below, and then watch a number of their videos from their YouTube channel, Life inside a Box. The couple started their “vlogs” when they first got the idea to build the house, and now they have hundreds of videos documenting the entire process, including DIY videos for those who want to follow their lead.

I love that they go into detail about the different off-grid aspects of their life, as well as dedicate time to telling us what about their tiny house they’d change, how much the house cost and how they are living legally! You might lose a few hours watching all their videos — don’t say I didn’t warn you!

I think some things that happen when 55+ years old that don’t enter THOW planning. Getting out of bed to empty one’s bladder every 1-1/2 to 2 hours & a loft ladder may be difficult.

that is why some tiny homes have bedrooms on the main floor.

This problem is why I am a big fan of hydraulic beds; second floor for storage, first floor for comfort access minus the dangers of falling off a ladder. 😀 Works for me 😀 😀 😀

It depends on the builder… Not everyone builds THOWs with loft beds… and there are creative ways around just about any problem…

While it’s not like big houses don’t also have design issues… Like placing the bathroom down a long hallway or if a two story house then you might need to still go down the stairs… Not every house has a master or guest bathroom right next to the room and then there’s the increased chance of needing to share as big houses usually means more people living under the same roof… So it’s a general issue with any house design…

But, since these Tiny Houses can be completely custom and done at lower cost than customizing a big house it means people just have to make sure it meets their needs when designing one…

Most THOW owners are looking to THOW to help them save money. Saving money is the key to buying bigger later.

I’ve been watching their YouTube channel for some time now. This couple are incredibly hard workers and implementing a true off grid life style. It’s worth checking them out.
