Community of Diverse Tiny Houses

This post contains affiliate links.

To me, it’s not common to get to see so many different styles of tiny houses in one place.

In this case, we’ve got a Spanish style home, a little cottage, an Asian-inspired tiny house and a really small Spanish style adobe cottage.

And they’re all tiny or at least “small” in my opinion. But enough talking, let me have you look for yourself below.

I have always been attracted to Spanish style and I designed a Spanish style 12×16:

If I ever build another house for myself it will be strawbale and stucco Spanish style. Better insulation value and they just feel natural to the landscape.

The small adobe gets my vote – the same design could be done in stucco for damp climates, and I really really like the headroom.

    Nice cottages.

Too bad the owners decided to shop them on Air B&B. AB&B is one of the reason you can’t find an affordable rental in cities like Austin, Tx. Everybody wants to rent their “cute little bungalow” for $200/night instead of offering them to long term, stable tenants at an reasonable price. Cities will soon discover they’ve priced out the folks who can help to keep them vital.

As for calling this a “community”, that’s a bit of a misnomer. It’s a hotel. Schemes like this capitalize and are actually counter to the Tiny House movement which emphasizes affordable living, not luxury vacation rentals.

Yeah I also wish there were more communities for annual living. It will come. I’d like to be a part of creating more of them.

I love the adobe with the mexican tile. I wish adobe would work here in Georgia.

This is an excellent template for small home community. The variety is so cool.
Not a surprise for Vermont. So beautiful there.

    Well written Alex, as usual.

I am in total love with these houses. I want one so bad and to put it on my brother’s mountain in Tennessee for retirement.
