Well, that’s exactly what Shorty Robbins built. And her tiny house has a custom-built piano that turned into a bed.

Her LCD television is stored under a painting when not in use, to keep the theme alive as much as possible.

Bless your heart, I’m a Yankee, forced by circumstance to live behind enemy lines. My home is 100% Yankee ingenuity, but I open my door for to all who will enter in peace.

Shorty— I love your answer to the “Promoting Southern Lifestyles” poster. You are much better schooled in the art of politeness than I!!! I also love your home!! Will keep an eye out for it when we travel North and South!

I absolutely love your tiny house. I can’t imagine anything that would make it more perfect. I especially admire the way you were able to provide yourself with modern amenities while staying true to the era of the home. I can totally understand why your happy place is your happy place. Thank you for sharing it.

My kids and I went to Camp Nawaka in East Otis, MA. Is that the same Nawaka you attended? Great place!

Same Nawaka! 1969-1973 as a camper, then 1976 as staff ❤

Do you have a website for the sewing machines? I’m in love with your tiny house but how do you survive the heat in Florida without air conditioning, I just moved here and am struggling.

I have A/C. If you look at the photo of me sitting in the chair, there’s a mini split hidden by the curtain over my head.

I have been in this house at a Tiny house Fest in St. Augustine Florida. It is so cute. I would love to get a hold of the building plans and have one built for me.

Congrats on a lovely tiny home! I was fearful at first that there’d be confederate flags draped over everything. But this reminds me of the Little House on the (Illinois! My birth state) Prairie! Don’t know how all those kids got made with ma and pa sleeping below the young ‘uns! LOL

I was so happy to see your tiny house in the news letter today! I met you spring a year ago at a show on the west coast. I had just gotten my tiny house (180 square feet) a couple of weeks before that and had barely moved in when I was there. Yours was the first tiny house we saw in the show and I liked yours the best of all the houses there. I may have told you then that I could relate to you because I volunteered with my husband at the Yesteryear Village at the Palm Beach County Fairgrounds for 15 years and dressed in the 1900’s clothing. I have now been living in my tiny “My Robin’s Nest” since early March of 2019 and it is the best thing I ever did! (Since my husband passed in 2013). I did research to decide how big I wanted it to be and then checked all the builders in several states. To make a long story short, my son found this one listed on line only 10 minutes from my house and they delivered it for free! Because of living in Florida, I have it parked behind my 800 sq.ft. house but live full time in the tiny. I do sewing for charity and use a room in the house for that and one room for my treadmill. Other than that I spend all my time in my tiny. I can’t begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed making my tiny my own and decorating it. I am a collector so I took one thing from each collection and found special places for each thing. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to move from here. I’m no spring chicken but God knows I’d like to be on a peaceful little lake somewhere. I loved downsizing and as you said, everything that is really important to me is around me. Again, it was good to see your tiny again and I enjoyed talking with you last year. Bless you. Susan Harter

Hi Susan, I do remember you! So glad you made it to living tiny!
      Fun fact:
My real first name is Robin and I almost named the house the Robin’s Nest 😂

So much fun seeing your tiny again! After I commented on your tiny, I was contacted about pics and interview for my tiny! It was such an exciting experience. I just celebrated two years living in my tiny a few days ago and I’m more in love with my Robin’s Nest than ever! I can see staying here forever! I pray you are still enjoying yours and your travels and are in good health with this last year. Hope to see you at another show sometime. Bless you. Living the life! Susan Harter😊🏡

I just noticed your last comment to me about your name being Robin! I guess we have something in common! What a coincidence! I have decorated my tiny with lots of robins and other birds and nature. Robins remind me of my grandmother that lived in Pennsylvania and bring back special memories. I will now remember you even more!🥰 Susan
