Retired Teacher’s Park Model Tiny Home

This post contains affiliate links.

Charlene was a teacher until she retired at age 70 shortly after her father passed away and urged her not to “die in her classroom.” She and her husband had owned a 50-acre ranch which she continued taking care of when she lost him in 2007, but she was ready to downsize.

She looked at 7 or 8 different park models to find the perfect one for her needs, and ultimately chose this model for the galley kitchen and massive porch that allows her to spend half of her waking hours outside and entertaining company. Charlene carefully selected each option for her custom tiny and you can tell she loves this life!

Charlene- (I hope the spelling is correct),
I loved your Tiny Home video! I say home, not house because you have certainly made it into a home!
Your video has inspired an interest in Tiny Home living in Texas. I have been researching Tiny Homes for about 4 years now and was seriously looking at Virginia. My hubby just retired and now it’s time for a really BIG change for us. I have been sorting through everything and have already gotten rid of 2 truck loads of stuff, not including furniture as that is next. My best wishes to you on your journey of Tiny Home adventures!
    Sincerely, Tracee’ Pettee – Arizona

Who manufactures this park model home?

It’s a popular model, believe the original belongs to Champion Homes Athens Model APH 520 but it’s also licensed to multiple other manufacturers and sold under their branding and model name.

Where this is located, Village Farms bought the Platinum Homes version: P-409 The Cliffhaven and named it the Waterloo model. The Cliffhaven is a variant of the APH 520 and is also listed as an Athens model. So you could find this in multiple places around the country. Champion Homes is national but there’s also the local manufacturers. Along with being Park Model RV’s means you may find them at various dealerships as well…

While she had it customized to her specific tastes and needs, which is an option when you go to at least the bigger manufacturers…

Very Beautiful home,I love the wood color and accents. But when I get my home I’m wanting a walkin tub with jets. I’ve driven a semi for 36 years. I’m wanting to trade in my dryvan trailer for a dropdeck tel and have a tiny house built on it. Just like you,I don’t want a stove.

Not a chance I’m spending 23 minutes watching a 5 minute video. Do you think you’re a movie star now?

What the hell is wrong with you?
Why did you bother to comment at all?
You should have just moved on to something else!

It’s actually movie stars that would compress everything to just a few minutes but regular people are used to having an actual conversion and that often makes the tours about both the owner and their home, which this is also custom and thus has even more details that would not be possible to go over in just 5 minutes without leaving a lot out.

Really, this isn’t an advertisement or someone trying to sell the home but just a regular real person telling her story, that it takes more than a few minutes is normal and how it often works.

However, if you’re not interested in details or dealing with real people then just read the article to get the summary…

There is absolutely NO DETAIL in this incredible Tiny Home that I would change. As the homeowner mentioned several times: IT IS PERFECT! And it truly is!

I also live in the TX Hill Country and am wondering what the lot cost is at the park where this home is located… as well as the name of the park?

There is such a homeyness to your small but airy space that I enjoyed the entire video. I liked how you planned esp. for you and really understood your needs! I also loved your backsplash. Is it stone? I liked how you used the indoor and outdoor space too.

Oh you just stop that Tracy. Swearing is unnecessary and blah, blah, blah. Now you go sit in a corner and think about what came out of your potty mouth. Not sorry 😁

I’ll just point out that “Tracee” is an actual name and correct spelling, so not “Tracy”… It would be like replying to you but calling you “Liss” instead of “Liz”…
