looks like an innovative company. Nice Ideas and could be adjusted to what I want I believe. I do not see anything about steel studs though. That is a necessity for mine.

They used 2×4 dimensional lumber and CDX plywood for this one…

However, they’re custom builders and say they can customize everything from the trailer on up. So they can probably do steel framing upon request…

Though, the version of this that they were showing off back in November was listed for $119,900… Part of their marketing is to say they have engineers and architects on staff… So the price will likely go very high with them despite having the $65,000 starting price…

Oh, there’s a video of it on Tiny House Listings youtube channel… Search for “Incredible Smart Catalina Tiny House by Tiny Innovations “…

You know I agree james. I looked through their website and no mention of steel. when I want to build I will ask but not till then.

Why not ask them now? If it is a no, then you have clarity on where you stand in regards to their offerings.

Personally I like the idea of steel framing. Lighter than wood (generally) and dimensionally very stable. Wood however is not all that stable.

It’d be nice if the floorplan at the bottom of the pics matched up to the unit they were showing… In reality, it looks like the “window” and swinging door on the floorplan need to be swapped, with the stairs going up where the door is in this pic(?) I kind of like the looks of the unit in the pics – the “living room” area and a stair going up to the loft are two things I would like in a tiny.

Practices vary for custom builders but for many the floor plan is just the starting point/base model and what they end up building will depend on what the customer chooses to do, which can be significantly different from the original floor plan, but they still provide the original floor plan for other customers as the starting point in the process…

Other builders may opt to make a floor plan for every model built or they may not offer a publicly available floor plan at all because every one they build will be different and only their actual customers need to see it… Mind, this is sometimes because the customer wants the details of their home kept private…

It’s mainly the ones that don’t offer much in customization that will consistently give you a floor plan that matches what is shown…

Though, some may create a floor model plan based on a design done for a customer and then it would match for at least that one customer’s build… But that mainly happens with builders just starting out and trying to create a portfolio…
