This is the Captain Cook Tiny Island Getaway in Hawaii!

As someone who has never lived in a warm location, this indoor-outdoor dwelling looks wonderfully magical. The big four-poster bed sits in the middle of the cottage, while you have a full kitchen down a few steps. The “outdoor” room contains your shower, toilet and washer/dryer facilities. This is a vacation home, but it gives me some great ideas if I ever go tiny some place warm.

From Home Away:

This unique cottage offers a delightful indoor/outdoor living experience – 3 of 4 walls are screened, opening the studio to the sensual tropical air that is such a wonderful part of Hawai’ian living.

Outside, a covered lana’i and outdoor shower (great after a trip to nearby beaches), are bordered by a bamboo grove and banana trees. A pool and hot tub are all steps away – as are mangoes, bananas, avocados and papayas.

Inside is furnished with rattan furniture, a dreamy queen-sized bed, and plenty of space for relaxing. The kitchen is compact and complete – featuring a dishwasher, microwave, 4-burner gas cook top, convection/toaster oven (but no ‘full-size’ oven), and 20x20x36 refrigerator with upper, separate 16x16x20 freezer. Custom-built bamboo cabinetry ties everything together in unmistakable island style.

We loved designing, building and living in our little cottage. It gives us great pleasure to share this love with like-minded guests who are seeking something more authentic than your typical ‘condo experience’.

The location is the best, the home complies completely with my concept of spaces, inside, out, out, inside in a perfect blend with the typical furnishings of the famous island of the tropics. Feelings of total well-being!

With the open views into the forest surrounding much of the home, it is amazing. I didn’t think I would like this, but it is really lovely and unique.

Fantastic. What is the square footage? Do you have plans for sale?

PS A portable Nuwave infrared/convection oven condo anything an oven can even a turkey.

It’s a vacation rental, so I’m afraid they don’t offer specs or plans for sale. But you might be able to contact them on VRBO and see if they’d talk about the build 🙂

Very nice Hawaiian Tiny House, and all it’s little ways that it draws from the natural beauty of the island in side, is just awesome…! It ‘s like the house pulls the out side in when you look around in it.. Those open windows that just has screening, and the furnishings just ties it all in just beautifully….! I guess I’m trying to say that it is somewhat enchanting…

That would be absolutely perfect here in Queensland, AUS. Except we’d just need nice strong mesh/screens all round to keep out the deadly snakes, spiders, dingoes etc. Perfection!
