Camanda’s Tiny House: Couple in Auckland New Zealand Living in a Love-Shack Tiny House Build
When this couple needed a home, they decided to design/build this beautiful tiny house!
This area is wonderful because not only is there a nice window, but the bench can turn into a bed!
For me, nothing better than a tiny house with a bed on the main-level. So cozy and relaxing this way!
The fireplace is the center piece. So classic!
There’s a built-in staircase to get you safely to the spacious sleeping loft. Look at the skylight!
A skylight and dormer windows, it makes the loft all that much better.
Building a tiny house isn’t easy, and it doesn’t happen very fast, but it sure is rewarding.
Can you imagine how proud you would be if you built this?
The way they built the outside is so beautiful, too, isn’t it?
No tiny home is really complete, once parked, without an accompanying deck. It really adds that final touch that you need… Especially since outdoor space is so important in tiny homes.
The bay window is one of my favorite parts of this tiny house, what’s yours?
Again – how cool is that fireplace?
Dining and/or work and study mode. 🙂
The plants really make you feel at home.
Did you notice the large glass doors? These are beautiful…
I could stare at the fire for quite a while.
Building and living in a tiny house is a big accomplishment!
Could you see yourself waking up here? I like the way they use the fireplace as a Christmas tree, hehe.
Hanging Christmas lights in a tiny house is pretty easy and fast.
Cleaning the tiny house is pretty fast, too. But building it sure takes a while…
In the end, though, look what you can have!
A beautiful, cozy tiny home tailored to your own needs.
When you don’t need the table, it can be folded away.
The bathroom is super-nice!
On the way to the loft, some art work to greet you!
It’s so nice to see such proud and happy tiny-home-owners, isn’t it?
Couple’s Love-Shack Tiny House…
Relaxing with a view of what you built yourself… “Feels good, man.”
Wonderful way to relax and enjoy the tiny home and the peace it offers.
I think I prefer this sleeping arrangement, although the loft here is very nice.
Did you notice how these windows open? What a superb way to catch a breeze.
This is a very relaxing tiny house…
What more could you ask for?
I think they built the perfect tiny…
And it all started, kind of like this…
Isn’t it awesome, how you can still build your own home? Especially, a tiny home…!
Building a tiny house is a huge undertaking. It can easily take years to finish. But in the end, isn’t it worth it?

the end wall of window is AMAZING! Great use of space. couch makes into a bed. Dinning area all rolled into one. the fire place, is very nice. No gas or propane required. Not being keen on gas, its nice to see wood stoves. Lovely home.
I could see myself laying on the downstairs bed, reading and looking at an ocean view for years on end.
That really is a great job, especially mixing-in some of the construction pictures along the way. When we see a finished product it’s sometimes hard to appreciate all the hard graft which went into making it look that way, but this is just a great space which looks airy, fresh, and light. Well done, I love it!
Thanks for the feedback, David! I’ll try and do it this way more often.
Love your tiny house, so cozy! Can you tell me about your wood stove? We are looking for a stove for our tiny house. Thank you.
This is one of the most beautiful tiny homes that I’ve seen uptown date. This tiny house is in my top 5. Love it, lots! Thanks for posting this one., it’s amazing!
Really lovely home and well orgainized. I love the bath, especially the wood around the basin.
Very attractive and some really nice features. The white walls and light wood is one of my favourite looks for tiny houses.
I like the way the stairs to the loft end where the roof is highest rather than along the outer wall where it’s lowest. I also wondered how they’d manage the Christmas-time fires with the presents against the fireplace before remembering Christmas is in the summer in New Zealand. 🙂
So glad you liked it!
Ok. I KNOW this is like the tenth time I’ve said this but THIS is now my favorite and this time I really mean it! Lol yes I can see myself here.
I keep getting new favorites too!
I do like the design and layout. What I cannot figure is what is in the room behind the wood stove. The bathroom photos are not clear if the sink and toilet are on that side. I did not notice if there are shades of some sort to block the sun when sleeping on the hide-a-bed. Not everyone wants the sun to wake them up or feel the extra warmth with so many windows.
Behind the stove is the closet that’s built into the stairs and the only room to the rear is the bathroom… Loft joists show which direction the bathroom sink and toilet are facing on the left side. While the photos show the shower is on the right side… You can also figure it out from the photo of them standing in front of the before construction of the bathroom as you can see the sink drain sticking out of the wall to the left of them…
I noticed the trailer had been added after construction. How is the house fixed ?
