Hmm. Is it just me, or is this basically the same as their other 160 sq ft models we’ve seen recently, except for cosmetic details?

Rue, seems to me that you’re right (except the large doors at the end, which does open the space a lot). I think a lot of people just follow the same general layout. Just because a space is small doesn’t mean you can’t get innovative.

My bigger question…why didn’t they include a toilet?

No, it isn’t just you… I said exactly the same thing… 2 links one after the other in the email from THT and they are the same plan. To a T, only cosmetic changes.

What are the dimensions on this, including the height of the trailer bed off the ground? I get the impression this is a “basic” model and if you want anything else, you have to add it on yourself. I also think the lack of a toilet comes with the thinking that owners will be using the woods.

I’d have to agree here–the Pink House, Poco House, and the Cabin in the Woods all look the same except for exterior details. But the people at Tiny Living Homes aren’t the only ones to do this. For example, check out Molecule Tiny Homes’ Cape Cod and compare its interior layout to some of the others (the Craftsman comes to mind). The basic layout is the same. With TLH, the different names are a good waay to brand a specific house “look”.

As for the toilet, I’ve seen more composting toilets in TH builds on this site than I have regular flush toilets. A model like the Separett or Nature’s Head just sits there, needs no plumbing. And it’s a *much* better option than going in the woods, as someone above suggested. Besides, we didn’t get a full picture of the bathroom, just of the shower and sink. I’m sure there’s a toilet to the left of the sink, just out of the frame of the picture.

I’m not a super fan of 20′ homes–too small for me–but they still give me ideas of what to do should I ever go tiny. Alex, I appreciate the fact that you include everything on the site, that you don’t exclude ideas because “someone won’t like it” I doubt the complainers that sometimes “grace” the comments are really aware of the work that goes into making a site like this. Kudos to you.
