Talk about patience! This man built a home using 7,500 glass bottles — and you can rent it.
Called the “Bungalow in the Boulders,” the house sits near Joshua Tree and boy is it stunning. Be sure to watch the video with Deek from Relaxshacks.com after checking out the pictures, because the builder explains the painstaking process he used to cut, glue and mortar the walls of this rustic-glam vacation home. Rent it here!
Enjoy!

I absolutely love this house. When my big brother and I were kids, we built a fort in our woods out of Mom’s discarded glass bleach bottles and mud (Mom had no clue or she wouldn’t have allowed it). Even though it was tiny, it was big enough for the two of us.
I’m forwarding this to my brother (now 75 yrs. old), who lives far away, sadly. I’m sure it’ll bring a grin to his face, just as it did to mine.
Aww that is so wonderful! What a great memory 🙂
I didn’t watch the video, well maybe a few seconds of it or more…! But I guess that if you had to build with anything, why not bottles… I mean, I guess that it offers some kind of R- Value… And if anything it looks really cool from both points of view, in and outsides….!
They do look super cool!
Very unique, and it is pretty. But I would feel like I was inside some kind of computer motherboard, lol. But kudos on a cool design!
Hahaha I can totally see that, Danielle!
Amazing work! Such dedication.
Talk about recycling–woah! Good job, guy.
Haha seriously! Put those bottles to great use!
The house is certainly “funky”, but watching the video reminded me of looking at what might be left after a nuclear apocalypse with all the rusting cars and swings, etc. The house was unique, though, you have to say that much.
Haha it is a unique little spot 🙂
This got me reminiscing about the bottle collection I had during my youth…
Never thought it could become a home, huh? Haha
That’s it, now I gotta try my own bottle experiment….I want to see how the bottles hold up with cob instead of cement.
This looks like the EXACT design you will see when waiting in line for the Cars ride at Disneyland in Cali, but still a very cool house!
It is an original and unique idea in all its part not easy to achieve from the very effect result : by day the colored glasses illuminate the inside of the evening the outside, the only obstacle ( for those who love the panorama) is that the landscape you do not see it, so the project would also make sense even with two bottleneck walls, and large windows in the others.
What an awesome recycling idea! Does this man need a date? Lol
I think this would be a great way to re-cycle our glass bottles. Just like you have these businesses that sell crushed gravel, pavers, and the like, the bottles could be cut, polished, and sorted by color and size. They would make awesome single walls that are decorative and let in so much light. For those worried about heat loss, some sheets of triple-pane would solve that problem and still keep the beauty, color, and interest of such walls. Really love the interior ambiance the bottles give. He really is to be commended on a job exceedingly well done! 😀
