Couple Find Financial Freedom In A 267-sq.-ft. Tiny Home

This is the story of Molly and Ken’s and their 267-sq.-ft. Born And Bound Tiny House they live in with their two fur babies, Mel and Tucker. Believe it or not, they were even able to squeeze a sauna into their bathroom! Their tiny house has everything you need, including an apartment-style stackable washer and dryer and a railed staircase that leads to their cozy sleeping loft.

They live in their tiny house out of Austin, Texas, but since it’s built on wheels, they could move anywhere pretty easily. That’s what can be so great about tiny homes, they can make you very flexible and mobile. Molly and Ken chose the tiny life for the freedom it offers (low cost, low maintenance lifestyle). Why do you want to go tiny? Please take the tour of their beautiful tiny house and life below and let us know your thoughts in the comments. Enjoy! You can follow them @bornandbound on Instagram.

A cozy and comfortable couch like this is always appreciated! Especially in a tiny house where we see some really uncomfortable couches sometimes!

You can see the apartment-style stacking washer and dryer here along with the flush toilet, wall storage, squatty potty, hamper, and part of the shower (below).

Beautiful little bathroom with your own window for ventilation.

Their bathroom has a shower AND an infrared sauna!

Always fun to see a puppy acting kind of like a kitty.

Morning coffee in bed… Way to go Ken!

Here’s what the loft bed looks like when it’s all made.

And here’s what it looks like when it’s a little bit messy. A not so tidy tiny house is always nice to see.

And now we’re back to tidy.

It’s Christmas time in this tiny house! They’ve even managed to squeeze in a tree!

Got any treats for me?

Bravo! Perfecto! Great layout and the tiny house looks real good inside and out.
    Nice work.

Very cool little space! I like seeing photos of tiny houses in a messy state. Shows how a space looks in real life. That sauna! I love the movie screen also. Wow. Love the dawgs, too.

What sort of vehicle is needed to move the structure? A $50-70k pickup? Phfft, pocket change 😉

Doesn’t matter. If its only moved once in a while then hiring a vehicle to tow is… well cost effective. 😜

          hi, Eric,
define “once in a while”. based on my limited experience RVs and/or houses on wheels gotta be moved +-every thirty days.

@steveinsandiego Well I’ve been visiting this site since about 2012 or so. There have been many tiny homes shown here that have moved onto land and shifted once or twice in 6 or 7 years situations. Obviously, to me anyway, a number of these would be out in the boondocks, where local authorities aren’t aware, or really don’t care.
Anyway, technically one could move a house to a location away overnight, then return the next day. Unless there are specific laws that prohibit that. And lets face it, the USA has some really incredibly bizarre laws. What’s legal in one county is illegal in another, yet they can be in the same State. As the late OMC said in a song… How Bizarre.

Beautiful! I like the fact that on the outside, it looks like house, rather than shoebox on wheels. It’s absolutely gorgeous inside!

Love a THOW that has an actual sofa, and any runner would love the sauna. A tad to cluttered for me simply because we chose the tiny house lifestyle years ago because we are minimalists.

Cluttered? Whoa, take away the plants, bottle of dish detergent and brush and the place is empty. Oh, you probably don’t have any fur babies either. I think it is spick and span compared to most homes… tiny or not!

So, darling home for a cute couple that smartly thinks ahead! Loved all of your 10 ideas for better living BUT you skipped an important one — clothing storage. Since there are 2 of you, and you planned for the pup, I am sure you have a closet or something. 🙂
