Very cool. And they make great storm shelters.

This is real nice. A job well done.
Wish I had one. Small, which is good
And even more beautiful opened up.
A lot of love, and talent of a hard
    working craftsman/craftsmanship.
    Went into this home.
I’m in love with it. WOW

Gorgeous, he certainly is a craftsman. I would prefer much more light
with more windows but it is practical as he wants it…namaste’, rachel

Awesome tiny house, and as the man said $18,000.00 USD…..! Are you seeing this fellow readers…? This is exactly what I have been talking about… There is no way on god’s green earth should anyone be paying those outrageous figures we see on some of these houses that contractors are trying to clean up on the market with before it folds…! This is the proof in the pudding sort a speak….! I thank this man for sharing his house with us here, and hope to see more like it in the future….!

The photos above, is that just one container or the whole three of them put together, on the inside? Although it looks great from the inside, but I’m still confused as to why there was three containers put together.

I think it’s a hiding in plain sight thing. Notice when it’s closed it looks like the other containers

The only way to get the lower shipping rates when going overseas because structural changes on the container itself aren’t allowed without new CSC certification.

The other two containers are just sitting there – they’re not part of the house build. Possibly he uses them for tools and other storage for his work as a boatbuilder…

That said, his design and use of space in that single 20 foot container is simply brilliant… it’s amazingly open and useable space-wise, and yet includes all the necessities for basic living – even laundry! I am -seriously- impressed with the thought and design effort that went into this space. And to keep it shippable as a container – as the video host said, how can you get more future proof than that?

    A top ten for SURE.

That layout is brilliant use of the 20′ container. Love the “sunroom” addition plan too.

This is such a unique idea!! When you first see it , it looks just like an ordinary container from the outside. But it is quite amazing when you open up the doors and see what he had done to the place. He turned a steel container into a lovely, organized home. Just love the glass sun porch, it’s gorgeous!! This man is a brilliant genius!! He has a lot of talents and his craftsmanship is just outstanding!! I enjoyed touring it, thank you for sharing!! Carol???

Great, its the way to go when you are moving often and even oversees. I like this sturdy boxes which are hurricane, fire, earthquake resitant and even float. The side opening allows huge glass doors to provide plenty of light and make the small space bigger.
The best of all, the container remains intact and keeps CSC certificate which allows shipping at low rates. Love it

I really like the idea of keeping it a shipping container on the outside and being able to ship it. Even though it is a ‘shipping container’ I never thought about actually shipping one. This is great! I love his story too. Best wishes to you Mr. Boat Builder 😉

    And the bathroom is where?

the bathroom was a door to the left right after he walked in, they showed it.

This is beautiful. Only two things I would change, just person preference. One is that I would have a Murphy bed/couch combo because I don’t like climbing. Something like this, with storage under the couch. https://bredabeds.com/murphy-beds/horizontal-inline-murphy-bed-and-sofa.html

Second, I hate those corner showers, so I think I would do a tile shower that took in that empty space to the left of the shower.

I would also put an retractable awning over that entrance way on the end with the beautiful flooring, it looked like cork.

Dawn, when you are using a high cube container which provides you a feet more standing headroom you can install a lift up bed with the advantage that you don’t need to put belt around your pillows and it doesn’t take nothing from your interior width. If you like a sofa it can be under the bed as long as it has removable back rest cushions.
You don’t need awning above the entrance because there is a fold up roof and the floor seems to me teak which can get wet anyway.

Beautiful little home. The wood gives the home warmth, and the kitchen is my favorite part of this home, nicely organized.

Brilliant. Beautiful woodwork. Please let us see it again, when he finishes it, and if he places it in a space that is landscaped. He is a wonderful craftsman.

What a fantastic job he has done with this container. You really do not need more — his design makes it all doable. I love the way the side opens up and out and when he gets done with the roof extension and his other plans there will be plenty of room. What skill and imagination will do for you, instead of saying I can’t, he said I can. I have always been intrigued with container homes since the “fad” took root some years ago. People have made 3 story homes with the 40 foot ones. If you are interested in this idea just google container homes – you will find plenty and many you would never know where made from containers. The other build would be to use Quonset huts. If I owned land one or the other of these would be the route I would go. I have seen too, where they have bolted the 20 foot container onto a beefed up trailer and used it for their THOW. So many ideas around.

Yes shipping containers offer so many opportunities! A really awesome way to reuse and recycle HUGE waste 🙂

This is the most awesome tiny home I’ve seen, and I’ve been watching them for several years now (at least four), looking at everything that has been posted this whole time. This is incredible, very livable, and so versatile! I could definitely live in this one! And since I cannot do stairs, I’d be sleeping on the bottom, but I think I’m in love — with the house, of course! Cannot say enough good things about it!

Wow! The detail in the wood and trim is amazing. It looks like a boat cabin.
