Before and After: Tiny House Backyard Studio Transformation

I love a good “before and after” post, and this one doesn’t disappoint!

Joe and Michelle Carr completely renovated the 1921 300 sq. ft. home on their property in Oklahoma City, and turned it into a dazzling modern studio that you can now rent on Airbnb!

The spot features a Murphy bed, living room, kitchen, full bath and private patio. Check out the before and after pictures below, and then head over to Airbnb to book your stay.

Enjoy!

BEFORE: 300 sq. ft. house built in 1921

There’s certainly some potential here!

Yikes! Holes everywhere.

Looking a little rough in here.

It’ll need some help for certain!

Demolition! Can’t wait to see what it becomes.

After: Airbnb Studio Vacation with Private Patio

Even a quaint backyard garden to walk through.

I want to live rather than just vacation!

Inside the living room/bedroom. That’s the Murphy bed.

What a huge transformation! It’s so clean.

How is this even the same space? Cool lighting fixture!

Voila! Now it’s a bedroom. I like the sideways Murphy beds.

Now you can curl up for the night.

Very classy kitchen and I love that door to the bathroom.

Watch some TV. Stay cool or warm with the split system.

Door to your private patio for coffee on the deck.

Mini fridge and microwave.

Beautiful floating shelves for bowls and nick knacks.

Beautiful bright white bathroom with Subway tiles.

Wow! Love those floors.

Closet space to hang your things.

Sit and relax after a day of exploration.

The kitchen is missing a couple of vital elements, a stove and fridge. What’s the point of a dishwasher if you can’t cook? I don’t own a dishwasher or a microwave. They are space eating and completely unnecessary. I do love the sideways Murphy bed but I would have added some color, not a fan of sterile white.

Sorry Kathleen I didn’t look at that closely. It’s actually a mini fridge. Since the studio is being used as a vacation property, they just included a fridge and microwave for quick meals like in a hotel room. Although I do love my dishwasher, space-eating and all! 🙂

What an amazing and beautiful remodel – crisp, clean, bright and spacious! Did they say how long it took from start to finish?

I’m afraid they didn’t Denise! I’m sorry. It is pretty amazing, though.

Wow what a transformation. Not sure all the white would have been my choice of color though. My hats off to the rehab folks.
