Artwood Cottage with Loft in British Columbia

A cozy vacation cottage tucked away in the woods of Pender Island, British Columbia, Canada. This cottage was restored by the owners who are very crafty with woodworking, stain glass and plastering. They call it the Artwood Cottage.

The cottage has a sleeping loft, open living and dining room, a small kitchen and bathroom with composting toilet.

You can see their creative touches throughout the cottage including earthy textured plastering on the walls.

They’ve replaced the wooden stairs that lead up to the sleeping loft. And check out the custom railing upstairs. Plus the fireplace downstairs seems to be wrapped with natural stone.

Explore the Artwood Cottage below.

Looking at the Cloud Of A Bed, I wanted to crawl through my laptops screen and just ~plop~ right down into it! What a place to ‘nest’.

Even before I viewed the interior, they ‘had me at the purple trim’, which is what we have on our own cottage. 😀 LOVE the stairs…LOVE the proper furniture and not the ‘stuck-in-place’ Build-Ins that so many tiny homes suffer with.

I can see this wee abode meeting many a tiny home lover’s needs.

Brilliant addition to your listings, Alex. 😀

Almost in my neighbourhood. Pretty cool island too, especially for cyclists. Always something going on in the Gulf Islands. http://activeislands.com/event-lists?field_island_tid=5&=Apply

By pulling the table out into the room a little bit more, and add a bookshelf or what ever shelves on the stair wall,,, no cabinets in the kitchen? You could hang some, like pots and pans, knives, etc. and add a copboard also. Great stairway,,, is there storage inside the steps? Nice, very nice place! Jan

I love the inside of the house it’s great but the colors on the outside are bad. that needs work. otherwise it’s perfect.

I love the layout, the colors, the spaciousness! Perfect in every way. If this were to be used full time, as opposed to use as a guest house, it could use a closet. Where to put it – so that it doesn’t interfere with such a great layout. Also – didn’t see where the bathroom is located. Any ideas? Really wonderful!

I think from looking at the outside Pictures and comparing them , the bathroom must be thru the door beside the stove

I think the bathroom is located to the right of the stove in the living area. In the picture of the stove, couch, and chair there is a door to the far right. I can’t see any other place it might be.
