Artist’s Muse Tiny House: The Perfect Writer’s Retreat (On Wheels!)

This post contains affiliate links.

New Frontier Tiny Homes calls their Cornelia model the “Artist’s Muse” and it’s easy to see why. Complete with a fold-down writer’s desk and wrap-around shelving, this cozy 24-foot THOW is the perfect space to write America’s next great novel (or some blog posts).

Designer David Latimer (@davidlatimer_ on Instagram) created the house for bestselling author Cornelia Funke, and now you can have a replica. The loft bedroom features 270-degree views which definitely helps the claustrophobia factor, and the ladder rolls all around the house, making it easy to access books or knickknacks stored on the shelves.

Enjoy the photo tour below, and be sure to check out more from New Frontier Tiny Homes.

The maple board-and-batten interior siding and ceiling provide such a warm vibe!

Just imagine sitting at this solid maple desk and writing (or gazing out the window).

Now these are shelves that Disney’s Belle would be jealous of!

And here you can see the bank of windows at the front of the house help make the tiny space feel larger.

The LED lights are all dimmable, allowing you to create the mood you want with the press of a button.

On the other side of the house there’s more custom-built storage: I love that it conforms to the step.

The desk folds away to allow additional living space when you aren’t working (and that’s hand-hewn flooring!).

The shed-style roof allows for plenty of headroom in this cozy loft.

The kitchenette (with a two-burner electric stove top) and bathroom are tucked beneath the loft bedroom.

The price for the home includes a countertop convection oven, not pictured.

The butcher block countertop and floating shelves are perfect, but my favorite part of the kitchen is the rustic lighting fixture.

Next we move into the bathroom where you get a composting toilet and 36″x36″ standing shower stall.

The green paint in here makes the bathroom feel natural and clean.

Because this side of the house has only upper windows, it’s perfect for facing toward neighbors to allow for privacy.

I didn’t see any photos of the shower. That is important to me.
I will be building my own tiny home (6.4 x 12) on wheels starting when I receive my next social security check.

While it is sweet and cozy- I don’t see any clothes or indication of closets, coats, shoes. No refrigeration.
Clearly its staged but I think that does a diservice for those of us who want a real lived in experience

Well, you’re not going to get lived in from the photos from the builder. Only from the owner but that comes later after they get it and can move in…

Besides, this is for a writer for writing… It’s not meant for full time living…

Rentals, getaways, vacation homes, etc. are not going to be laid out the same way as full time homes…

Just about perfect …. the green bathroom would have to be a different color, but the rest of it is awesome!

I wonder if this was built to house the young artists (one at a time) who are chosen for Cornelia Funke’s Artist in Residence program at her farm in Malibu (yes, that Malibu in California). She is extremely successful.

    Nicely done!
