This is the Gila County RV Park in Arizona.

It currently needs a manager, possibly someone with a tiny house looking for a spot to park. The manger will work five days a week, five hours a day for a free space and utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, and a small compensation.

Testimony from Marsha:

This is where I have lived for over two years now, and I am still loving it. Unfortunately, our former wonderful managers had to move to the valley to be closer to their children, and we miss them terribly. So we are hoping to find another couple that loves the fellowship of our small community, the friendly javelina and roadrunners that roam through on occasion, and being walking distance to the historic downtown Globe. They might also like to be involved in the Art Center here that regularly puts on plays and musicals, or the historical society with its wonderful museums, or even the amazing antique shops here in Globe and in Miami, but the restaurants are reason enough to live here. Great food everywhere you go!

From the Park Owner:

Gila County RV Park, 201 W Cottonwood St., Globe, AZ. Our RV park has 24 spaces, a 3-cage batting range with concession stand in historic friendly community. Compensation includes free space and utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, and small compensation. Five days a week, five hours a day. Non smokers or non drinkers. Duties include registering RVs, light clean-up, maintenance, yard work, manning small concession stand and batting range. Start ASAP.

The manager must work for 5 hours a day, five days a week. That is 25 hours a week. Here in Arizona the RV spaces rent for 400-550 a month. So the poor manger is working 100 hours a week for let’s say a $600 dollar RV space. So the manager is getting $6 an hour. Unless Gila is a upscale RV park with pools, restaurant, bar, activity director, etc. This is not a good deal at all.

Dumb comment. Go read again. The manager gets free space (aka rent) and utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, and a small compensation.

And I’d bet the manager would be struggling to find work to do for 1.5 hours a day typically. So could have their own little business, online or off. Craft stuff etc.

I’d say that’s a “good” deal. And the payment/compensation would attract pretty minimal income tax from what I believe to be the way it is in the States.

I do think this is a pretty great deal 🙂 You can live in your tiny house legally and get all utilities, etc. I’d do it if I was closer to Arizona 🙂 — Tiny House Talk Team

The minimum wage in AZ is 8.05 per hour. The monthly rate at this park is $385. For 100 hours per month (give or take) at $8.05 they would earn $805.00. Minus the rent, if they were paid $4.20 per hour they would break even. Since this ad doesn’t say how much they will be paid per hour, it’s impossible to know if the deal is good or bad. But, if they have any bills outside of food, they’ll need an additional income.

Just one more note…Lois is a remarkable local artist whose art work is featured in many government books, college brochures, historical documents, and even on a Christmas tree ornament chosen to be on the White House tree in Washington DC some years ago. She has a studio in her home next door to the park, and has just retired from teaching art at the local community college. She is a delight to know and to work for.

This sounds great! I’d apply in a NY minute if I was retired and looking for a place to resettle. Good luck with your search.

If I could move my present home or had a home in which I could park there, I would probably take them up on their offer, as I am not unfamiliar with Arizona living.. Got married to my second wife Donna in the Phoenix Wedding Chapel, and moved to Paradise Valley back in the 80’s off of I believe east 21st street, on the other side of the Camel Back Mountains…! Nice place….! But moved back east to continue my education for my degree…

I grew up in Globe Arizona, and I intend to have a tiny house for my retirement. This is a win-win

I agree with original post…. being a manager of an rv park is much more than 1.5 hours a day. Besides being available to register and deal with issues of maintanence for the other rv people, “manning the concession stand” is a 20+ hour weekly job. $600 month does buy an upscale lot for an rv each month… including upscale options like a pool ( definately a must for Arizona). The owner sounds like a great person to work for, but not at that compensation… no matter how nice she is. Sorry, just doesnt look like that great of a deal to be tied down to a location 24/7 meeting the needs of the other residents.

For heavens sake… it’s a position suited for a retired person that still wants to be somewhat active. It’s not a corporate career!

I’m retiring next month and think this sounds like it could be a decent gig. And coming from Michigan, Arizona sounds great!
