Another Tiny House Shell That Survived Hurricane Irma in Florida

This is an unfinished DIY tiny house shell that survived Hurricane Irma in Naples, Florida.

The other cool part is, the couple who own it were able to park two cars inside it during the storm which helped protect the cars while also adding weight to the structure to stabilize it during the storm.

DIY Tiny House Shell Survives Hurricane Winds in Florida

The first 2 photos show where we are currently on our build. As you can see it is just the shell. The windows were ready for pick up but with the incoming storm we obviously waited to pick them up.

We were very concerned our home would not tolerate the winds of Irma. My husband and I were talking and I jokingly said we should pull my car into it. He said it sounded like a good idea. We measured the car and the opening and low and behold! It was a fit. We not only pulled my Fiat into our home, but our friends Mazda Miata! We truly believe these 2 vehicles helped stabilize our home in the winds and as you can see from the last picture, other than some of the Tyvek blowing off, our home is unharmed!
