I know we’ve been posting a lot about the Tiny House Hotel lately.
But Faircompanies has released interviews and video tours of the tiny houses on the property.
I’m so inspired how someone found a way to turn what used to be a repossessed car lot into a Tiny House Hotel called The Caravan.
From Repossessed Car Lot to a Tiny House Hotel
I encourage you to watch the video below to hear how it was done! Including how zoning was passed and how the tiny homes on wheels got there.
Zoning
Designated as a Recreation Park as a lot. So it’s NOT an RV park.
The tiny homes themselves are designated as traveler’s accommodations. So the hotel is on an urban campground. The owner/operator explains more in the video below.

The owner has leased three unique tiny homes that have been built on trailers from different owners. I showcase all three of them in this post. But they do a great job of giving you a video tour in the video below so I definitely encourage you to watch it below.

Well, that was 11 minutes and 46 seconds of my life that was worth using up to view this extremely well-made video. Applause, applause, Ladies! You’ve Dreamt the Dream and Achieved It through hard work and perseverance!
Before marriage, I lived with my Grandparent’s during Uni in Portland; they had sold the dairy farm and “retired” to growing fruit trees. SMH! Also stayed in Medford; amazing state but far too WET for my Prairie tastes. I need blue sky and sunshine, not fog and clouds and drizzle.
I snickered at this innocent comment, “This is our LARGEST UNIT and the most popular but we don’t.know.why?” Uh, could it be because it’s the LARGEST unit???? ~continue snickering~
Fascinating topic, listening to her and about the different code variances they had to go through to achieve this dream. That area is very Hipster/Hippie-Dippie; you’d need another city like Portland to try this out. Chicago would be a No-Go but I can easily see Madison, Wisconsin, another hot-bed of youthful ideas, entertaining a Tiny House Motel.
Alex, I can easily see your complete and utter fascination with this ground-breaking concept. Sure hope you get to stay in The Pearl, soon!
