Motor1.com Rendering of Potential ‘Tesla Motorhome’ Based on All-Electric Semi?

With stories of people creating their very own all-electric motorhomes and van conversions, it can’t be long before we actually see something like a ‘Tesla Motorhome’ become available, right? In fact, there’s already news of an all-electric VW bus coming back to the United States.

That’s why I’m glad Motor1.com created this now viral rendering. Why wouldn’t Tesla possibly create an all-electric motorhome? And if not Tesla, then why not any other RV manufacturer that can simply use a Tesla Semi or maybe the upcoming Tesla Pick Up Truck as a base?

What do you think?

And let us know… Do you think this will actually happen?

I think…

Tesla will NOT do this, but that won’t stop other companies from buying Tesla vehicles (like their Semi and upcoming Pick-Up Truck) and doing the conversions to motorhomes themselves, right?

We should probably expect that at least a few current RV manufacturers to already be planning on doing this!

Plus, there’s probably some sort of version of the Sprinter van that will come out – at some point – in all-electric form.

I predicted this 3 yrs ago. But it won’t be the semi as just too heavy but the Tesla pickup at 3-20ton, is prefect. With solar on the top, fold out awnings, it could be independent of the grid too.
Plus the 500 mile range in the semi is pulling a loaded trailer. The same pack would give you 1200 mile range in RV form.

I wouldn’t count on that range… Remember, the RV will be running appliances, etc. and will likely be all electric and no propane. While motor homes can still be pretty heavy and aren’t known for their aerodynamics, etc. that’ll negatively impact their maximum range.

But there’s already a rent-able EV RV with about 75 mile range (Britz eVolve Motorhome). So 500 miles would still be very impressive improvement over what’s available now.
