Alfie the A-frame

This is Alfie the A-frame. It’s a not-so-tiny A-frame cabin vacation in Sechelt which is in British Columbia.

It’s available to book on Airbnb, but wouldn’t it be awesome to build and live in something like this?

Isn’t it awesome how there are stacking decks to easily enjoy the outdoors? Not sure about you, but I’m one to really appreciate this.

Here’s the entry… 🙂

Cozy covered spot and there’s even a BBQ grill too.

You can see from the other angle here (and also a preview of the kitchen. I’m liking this layout.

Beautiful up here, isn’t it?

You can see there’s a cozy area to lay and read there on the floor in the corner.

And let’s not forget access to the balcony (and look at that view!)

This seems like a really great place to stay, doesn’t it? Not to mention how awesome the cabin itself is too but it seems to be in a great location.

It’s such a wonderful little cabin, isn’t it?

It has very whimsical characteristics thanks to the unique curved shape. Not the usual A-frame!

And the beautiful view doesn’t hurt either! If you want to book a getaway here, the info is below. 🙂

“…wouldn’t it be awesome to build and live in something like this?”

It would, but more to the point, I like that house, in that setting.
It all works so organically. Even the address painted on the rock out front. Perfection.
…well, almost. Stairs need a hand rail, but besides that, I only see everything “right” with this place.
This is one two-story I wouldn’t mind owning (at this point in time).
The only sad point is that, should I live long enough, I would likely sell it and get into a one-story (of course, I could just live downstairs all the time, too).

Depending on your budget, one possible solution would be to replace the stairs with a lift…

Yeah, one could do that. You could build an elevator from a thick sheet of plywood and a small winch, too.
However, it seems that when you reach a certain point in life, you’re just DONE with large purchases (unless ABSOLUTELY necessary).
I think just spending all my time downstairs would be the most logical option….of course, when you get there, you may feel different.
I can really only speak for myself.

When the stairs become too much, the upstairs can be just for visitors – they can make the bed and clean up for themselves! Such a pretty A frame!

Ah, the enthusiastic optimism of kids. You think you’re always going to have friends…..warms this ol’ heart just thinking about it. =)

Your comment made me smile, Fred! I haven’t been called a ‘kid’ for years – I am 60! We have 4 adult children and 2 still live at home and travel with us on holiday. The other 2 are married and have a baby each on the way. A safer staircase would be a priority in preparation for the patter of tiny feet 😃

I see a lot of cute A-Frames but they don’t seem livable long-term….but this one, I could live in. For sure, great vacation location. Beautiful place.
