If you want to book a stay here click here to go to Jennifer and Gregory’s (the owners) Airbnb listing.

Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck, take a morning stroll along the creek, turn on the string lights for some mood lighting, take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy your morning shower under the trees in the private, spacious outdoor shower (room for two!), and end your day relaxing by the chiminea fire with an ice cold beer. This is the life!

The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress (now with a new mattress), the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and chiminea for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (when the chickens are laying) and providing firewood. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more.

This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm tree grove along the banks of Smith Creek. With 12 beautiful acres to explore, you’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to nature, yet the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley are only a few minutes away. It’s the best of both worlds! So, what are you waiting for? The Dixie Daisy is the unique getaway you’ve been dreaming of. We are confident that it will exceed your expectations!

    Heart Be Still!!!! <3

Now we're talking! Does it hurt that 50% of what they have on their property is also on my own? LOL Vintage items galore; love the chiminea (we have 2 on our acre); the Fairy Lights are divine; classic Checkerboard floor; Chintz curtains, enameled kitchen table…oh, I could go on and on and on in regards to compliments on the entire package.

Truly Texas Heaven. You're one lucky family. 😀

    Very nice!!!

A couple of questions: Is there a well on the property? I mean is the water for the tub “local” or is it hauled in? Is the little lean-to type shed next to the tub a generator / hot water heater shed for the pump on the tub and shower?

Does anyone know what year/model the Dixie Daisy is? I would like to acquire the same Airstream model and renovate it into something very similar to the Dixie Daisy. This is an awesome Airstream and I love it!

To answer Sally the Airstream is from the 80’s can’t tell the exact year and it is a 27ft Excella model. I have 1989 29ft Excella also parked on some Texas Hill Country property and I wish mine was as nice 🙂

Back in 2006, I purchase a 22 foot “Airstream International CCD”, which had the bright aluminum skin inside as well as outside. My upholstery was cobalt blue, although they also offered bright orange, lime green, and taxicab yellow cushions. There was a queen bed in the front, separated from the kitchen/dining area by a large closet and frosted “Plexiglas” panel. The kitchen had 4 -“Tylenol”-shaped portholes above the countertop, and a dinette with 2 huge windows opposite it. Toward the read, was a counter-like desk with an orange plastic chair, and a “wet bath” with a frosted porthole in the angled door. The floor was a light colored wood laminate, and there were old style striped awning on the “curb side” and in back. I bought it new at the January “RV Show” in Hartford, CT, and it was marked down from $47K to $40K, with a 6% interest rate (think I had to put down a few grand as a deposit…). Later that year, however, I decided it would cost me too much to buy a vehicle to tow it, so traded it back in on a 2006 “Airstream Parkway”, which is the 22 foot motorhome built on a “Mercedes/Dodge/Freightliner” chassis. That little “baby” cost a whopping $90K, but did get between 20 & 25 mpg with the turbo-diesel engine. Had 2 “opposing” sofas that folded together into a king-sized bed, plus a wet bath in back, along with a small kitchen area, plenty of cabinet, drawer & closet storage, a flat-screen TV/DVD player combination, and propane-powered generator for “off-the-grid” camping/living. Was a breeze to park and drive (except when it was “breezy”! YIKES!), and I am truly sorry I no longer have them! 🙁
