I think I would like to see the rest of the house and when bedtime rolls around the last I feel like doing is moving furniture so I can lay down. But it’s cool and different. 👍

It actually has a full queen in an upstairs loft as well! This is actually my house… I only use the Murphy bed as a guest bed or for relaxed movie nights! 😉

Love this concept. Gives lots of extra room. Would definitely consider something like this in a tiny home. Hopefully this would be additional sleeping and not the main bedroom area. Would still prefer a ground floor bedroom or stairway to the loft master that has a railing. Can’t climb the typical ladder any longer.

I think it’s a very clever idea but the bed it adds seems a bit inconvenient without giving additional sleep places. First, you have to move both cushions off of the benches but if you just removed the backing pillows, you have two twin beds so just have guests just sleep on those. Surely they can sleep separately for a night or two though if it is the main sleeping area, that might be an issue. The bed that gets lowered looks like it would be awkward to get into, too, because it is elevated. I’m a bit older so perhaps this would be more appealing to younger people who can leap up onto it. 😉 I love that the table gets lowered to form a dining table, though. Like I said, it is clever but just a bit awkward. I agree with one of the other comments about wanting to see pictures of the rest of the tiny house. I like the shiplap that is shown so feel the rest of the decor would pleasing.

Well, for the drop down bed, it’ll depend on how tall you are… If you can sit on a table from a standing position then you can sit on the bed and just scoot yourself onto it… Mind, the bench would usually be set around a little under knee height as most people don’t like their feet to dangle off the floor when sitting and removing the seat cushions lets the drop bed sit at normal sitting height, with just the mattress sitting above that… So not actually that high off the floor…

Some regular beds can be that high… Like those that have the bed frame+Box Spring+Mattress combination can sit pretty high, especially with 15″ and up mattress sizes…

While could always add a drop step or step stool… There’s also the option to just step onto the bench and then onto the bed if you push the cushions out of the way…

As a person with chronic pain and mobility issues who has to lay down a few times throughout the day, anything that I have to convert in order to do that isn’t the best of ideas. I do like this for a guest space, though–especially if there’s a pull-out step built into the end of the benches so it’s easy for anyone to access once the bed is down.

My ideal setup uses the stacked spaces thing you’ve featured in some homes with the bed as a bunk space under the living room, but since I’m not very tall, I could split them more equally and have a standing-height bedroom and a standing-height office. Doing a storage stair with a 90-degree bend would allow a bedside nook under the corner and a 24″ wide closet under the top landing, as well as a couple of spaces for socks and underwear, and still leave deep storage space under the bed for seasonal items.

Yes this is his guest space — there’s a queen loft as well. Murphy beds definitely aren’t for everyone.

I love this Murphy bed with the table. Very important even though I am an older senior, I have lots of family. I do not mind the height at all, my twin bed now is so high that if I sit on the edge, my feet don’t even reach the floor. I ended up with 2 mattresses when I ordered it, and then just kept them. I would have liked seeing the rest of this Tiny though! Thank you for sharing this, I thought of that table idea myself a long time ago. I even drew it on paper to see if it was a feasible idea. lol!

I own a studio condo in Seattle and would like to order in queen size this murphy bed with the drop down table. Can I do that through you, and what are the height and width dimensions so I can be share it will fit the wall I’m attaching it to? Thanks, Ken Gifford

I love this option for non-loft sleeping. I hate the waste of space for rooms that serve only one function. Usually the rooms are unused most of the time so multi purpose rooms are so smart. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
