This is the A45 tiny home. It’s a modern A-frame-inspired structure on a foundation designed by Bjarke Ingels with 180 sq. ft. of space inside.
A45 is the first prototype constructed in upstate New York and will be customizable inside and out for future home-owners to purchase, tailor and have the tiny house built within 4-6 months in any location, for any purpose.

The design evolves from the traditional A-frame cabin, known for its pitched roof and angled walls which allow for easy rain run-off and simple construction.
To maximize the qualities of this classic structure, A45 creates more usable floor area by taking a square base and twisting the roof 45 degrees to raise the tiny home to a soaring 13 ft height.

Very interesting. Looks much larger than it Sq. ft.
I do like the exterior look, but I don’t find it very functional. Family dinners would be hard to cook. There’s no storage for food, no refrigerator that I could see. I sort of feel bad that the child will have no experience with the joy of bathing, as there is no tub. Wonder where the child sleeps. Perhaps include pics of the loft…?
I believe you misunderstood the article, this is just a showcase prototype model… Basically set up like a weekend getaway cabin…
It’s just to give an idea of what it can look like but they’re offering to build these within 4-6 months from the time of ordering and both the interior and exterior can be customized however the client wants.
Lovely ,, all that light ! , all that hight ! ,, I would sleep in the loft & have a sofa & possibly a freestanding bathtub downstairs ,, love it !
The exterior is beautiful. Not sure about the interior yet. And does it have windows on only that one side? I’d want cross-ventilation.
What they’re offering is to have these made to order… Both the interior and exterior can be customized.
So you aren’t limited by how this prototype is set up…
exterior is a gorgeous design. the interior is cave like, not crazy about that.

With just the feeling that shocks the visitor other considerations like: funcionality, cooking space (which it does have), bathroom, etc., “they”: really step aside to a second, third, fourth place in the name of design, purity, meaning, matching perfectly to the forest surroundings, you must understand that we, architects, are always moving between what will function well and that not only means functionalism perse. There are several other things that leads function: meaning, site response, climate, views, traditional imagine for the shelter, materials, colors, the strong feeling of being inside reinforced by the absolute opening to the view and the absolute shelter, of the rest without windows everywhere.
You don’t arrive to Versailles, Caserta, Schönbrunn, Villa Mairea, Ville Savoie, Alambra, etc., etc., looking for appropriate bathroom, or kitchen. What you admire there are splendorous buildings that tell you what those buildings represent.
