I love this! It might be one of my favorites. By any chance does anyone know where the table and chairs can be purchased?

Surely there are not many spaces to put a tiny house in a large city. Wouldn’t it be great if some of you talented people out there came up with more economical and appealing ways for urban dwellers to maximize space in their small apartments? I know we have seen some samples of this kind of renovation in this newsletter; I’m just asking for more.

Awesome, the teamwork! I counted, there were 14 people working on this (at least, some the camera may have missed).
So basically 14 * 3 = 42 days it took. But you have to consider that as a team you help each other, you don’t waste time on driving to shops yourself, to search tinyhousetalk.com for tips and solutions to problems you are facing, to hold a joist or even an oversized drywall in place while screwing, etc etc.
We know all of that easily triples the work time.
    So, 42 * 3 = 126 days to build this house.
This doesn’t make this project an inch less awesome, but it explains to those who have to build themselves that 126 days (full-time) is a more reliable estimate to build a tiny house. 🙂
    – Unless of course you are really good, you know your stuff, you have it all on large premises in front of you, and you are experienced to use it.
I just looked: it sold for USD 26.6k. For a good cause! I can see schools starting projects like this, all over. What an impact!

Would love to have them build one for me. 26,000.00 is a great price. Too bad that they are up in New York. We could use them down here in Florida.

Is that the ladder up into the loft, or is that some kind of room divider/plant stand? If it’s the ladder into the loft, then it is VERY clever (cuz it looks like a room divider) and it looks great! Also, what was used for the interior woodworking? It sort of looks like MDF. While I understand the cost-cutting benefits of MDF, my personal experience with it is that it bends (easily) out of shape and if you don’t paint it, the glue lets go and it disassembles on its own in a fairly short amount of time; thus requiring replacement. I’m not down with MDF.
