Today, we’re super excited to let you read Allison & James’ super-detailed story — there’s no need for my commentary! Grab yourself a cup of coffee, and I’ll let Allison take it from here…
We are a couple from opposite sides of the world (Newfoundland and Australia) building a life together in a teeny-tiny 160 square feet.
Our current tiny home is a vintage 1968 Airstream Overlander nestled in the woods here in the Canadian Pacific Northwest! We’ve been living in and restoring our tiny home on wheels for the past 15 months.
We purchased the Airstream for $8,000 knowing that it would need a complete overhaul. And we converted it into our dream modern tiny home with our own two hands, in just 60 days, without prior building experience. It’s been a huge project!!
This is a vintage Airstream tiny house in an Austin, Texas village.
It’s part of the Community Inn of tiny homes at Community First Village (a community where they help house and restore the formerly homeless) and you can actually book a stay here. What do you think? Have you ever considered renovating or buying an Airstream?
Check out this stunning 1976 Vintage Airstream that’s been lovingly restored by the people at Tiny Haven in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.
The interior of the Airstream has a clean, almost Nautical look to it now, with bright white walls and navy accents. The bathroom has been redone as a stylish tiled wet bath, and there’s a California King Bed in the back! Wow.
But what really makes this a special spot to stay is the large covered deck with pasture views. The sunsets are breathtaking and you’ll feel secluded from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to town to explore. Book it here.
This is the Vintage Glamper at the farm at Perch and Nest. It’s an Airstream to tiny house conversion that’s was once an Airbnb vacation rental (now sold). So if you happen to be interested in it, you can book a vacation in it, try it out, and then buy it if you like it. That’s pretty cool!
This is not your budget travel trailer to tiny house conversion, it’s a high-end, quality Airstream conversion that was for sale with an asking price of $67,000 USD. It started out as a 29-foot Airstream Ambassador but it was completely stripped down and renovated by the previous owners out of California. The current owners bought it from them, picked it up, and towed it back home cross country. It’s said to weigh approximately 7000 pounds. Anyway, take a look and please let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks!

This family has been living tiny now since 2019, first in a 40-foot RV and now in a 27-foot Airstream. They purchased the Airstream from a client for a price they couldn’t refuse. It was totally gutted which allowed the family to create a tiny house that perfectly met the needs of their family.
They have an epic coffee station, full twin-sized bunks for the kids, and a full queen bed that doubles as the couch in the main part of the house. There’s also a nice bathroom with a composting toilet and shower. Let us know your favorite part.
